how to force Gigabyte Dualbios?

Thread Starter
ok.... ive searched around and cant find much info on this, and if any at all the procedures are pretty vague on how to go about forcing the backup bios to reflash the main bios when it doesn't flash automatically. i got a new 1090t yesterday and decided to update from bios version f4 to f12a for ga-ma785gm-us2h. reboot, and....

....nothing. the fans spin, power is on, but no beeps, no video.

shouldnt dualbios kick in if the main bios was corrupted from a bad flash?

well it doesnt.... so i was wondering if anyone knows the proper way to force flash the main bios from the backup, because the downtime of an rma is no fun at all when i have only this computer to game on.

any help?

ummm. yeahh it normally should. try clearing the cmos? did you use @BIOS or the Q-Flash? you could try blind-flashing it maybe. (we have the same boards and same Rev's)

used @bios.... tried hooking a floppy disk up, tried the usb stick, and the cd method to blind flash. nothing. this is upsetting because one of the main reasons i went with gigabyte was because of the dualbios feature. go figure. the battery has been out for a few minutes. im going to put it in soon and try again.

it gives me an idea of how it works, but not how to fix it. im going to look up some specs on the bios chips themselves and see what info i can find..... i found some info on jumping connections to somehow 'reset' the bios so that the backup sees that the main is not functioning properly.
