bootable windows cd?

Thread Starter
Alright, so on 1 of my computers, i copied the contents of my windows xp Pro cd onto the harddrive so I can back it up if i ever lose it. Well, to make a long story short, i lent out my CD and it's gone. Is there anyway I can use those original files from the CD to make a bootable cd? I need it to fix my other notebook. Any help would be appreciated. Reccommended software? Solutions? Advice? All welcome.

Thanks ahead of time guys.

Thats called Piracy my friend. Yes with the backed up files on your harddrive just write them to a cd through nero and make sure you make it bootable.

It's only piracy if he doesn't have a legal license key. He still paid for the full set, media and license.

I sometimes find that very debatable even though i see what your saying as he has bought a Legal liscence but when he downloads those such files from a torrent he is still obtaining material from microsoft through a filesharing program.

that will not work.. in order to make a windows bootable cd you need the proper boot strap.. it can be a pain the rear to set this up but it is possible.. also it doesnt matter what source you obtian the software as long as the license is yours paid for
