it's not good. sounds like the psu is going kaputz. probably should get a new one. I mean, they're cheap, and to be on the safe side. you should get a multimeter and confirm it that was as the BIOS and software aren't always correct, although that's a decent jump in voltage. the lowest mine has gotten is 12.54v, and it has jumped up to 12.6. for you to drop that low means things are most likely starving for juice. If your comfortable with it, check it with a multimeter and confirm. but, you can get a decent powersupply for about 120bux or less nowadays.

http://www.xoxide.com/hiper-power-supply-black.html $119.00 580w

http://www.xoxide.com/ultra-x-connect2-titanium.html $99.00 550w

http://www.xoxide.com/coolmax-cr-550b.html $79.00 550w

http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool-turbine-550w-psu.html $86.00 550w I have this one and it's been fine for me.

all of these are modular too, so you can cut down on the clutter. I don't know if you'll need that much power just figure I'd throw in some links for ya

I thought it wasn't good........ well I'm not going to go out and spend 80$ + on a power supply for just an old sony 1.8ghz, one ide, 2x 256m and crappy TNT2 32mb card...

The problem is sony squished everything in a small case and I tried putting my codegen 350watt PSU in it but it doesn't fit!!!

Yeah it's been running like this for 3 weeks I think ... do I risk frying anything????... about 3 weeks ago I decided to dust everything out, then I restarted the computer and that was the first day I got the error!

sounds like it's proprietary hardware, but I don't know anything about vaios. check ebay, might be able to find a used on for cheap. or, if there's room in the bottom of the case..... lol. you definately don't need 400w though it sounds like.
