Is there any place that buys used PC equipment or trades in?

The Problem:
I want to get a good notebook so I want to sell some parts and two used systems to some used hardware store.

I have several good Cpu's including a Fx-53, two P4's (about half a year old both 3.6 GHz), and some more.

I know of one place locally, but maybe there are some good places to sell PC equpiment and electronics in thier original boxes for slightly below current market value on the internet too? It's good thing I always keep all the boxes and packaging.

I also saw some companies like Fujitsu have trade-in programs but I know I'm not going to get much of a fair price in those and the requirements all say I need to buy thier top range product in order to trade in...

I also have a the rest of the computer form the FX-53 to sell.

Any ideas please?

Newegg.com will give you like $300 for a full computer. They won't buy individual parts.

Best idea:

ebay
OC.net

They really don't give you anything near what it is worth, and the money they give you is Newegg.com credit.

Newegg trade in sucks. It doesn't ask what video card nor what details are! 256mb ona geforce 5200 is much different from 256mb on a 7800GTX of which I have two.

and

Apple Ipod only?! Newegg should really be sent to hell. Archos 700 120Gb and 7 inch owns Ipod anyday.

Anyhow....

Are there any places which take an actual estimate on what you have? (Other then Overclock.net where I don't have enough reps so far)

Edit1: WHat about amazon.com. They sell used electronics butthey must be getting those somewhere. Are they buying from people also?

Tried and tried

I offered a reasonable price for my main system in my profile. i also bundled a free ipod video nano 2Gb player for free and no bids. 2 watchers but no bids.

One person wanted to buy it and told me his "comapany's" location was in singapore. Then I looked at his profile and he lives in maine and joined ebay two months ago

I decided not to risk it. I have 100% feedback but almost all as a buyer so maybe that scares peopel off.

I also posted my other 7800GTX's in box and that got no bids even though 350 was a fair price. Another person sold the same but no box for over 500 (which is over market value bigtime) the same day

I would say ebay sucks for anybody other then a powerseller, but as a buyer it is very nice. Got 2 Ipod nanos video for tenth price each.

The question is what is your time worth. As you have explained, selling on eBay for what you think is fair, is a not exactly easy and quick process. Where as trading in to Newegg or another source, you get less money, but that is your cost for ease.

BTW - Amazon does not sell "used" things, those are auctions by Amazon users similar to eBay.

Which would you rather have? $100 from Newegg on trade in? Or a video card "worth" $200 sitting in your closet because no one will buy it on ebay (don't forget your listing fees and Paypal percentage as well, that $200 will likely net you about $150.......)

Thanks for the link paul.....they will offer me $117 for an ancient laptop I have in my closet (includes shipping to them)!!!!! And newegg credit is great, I've always got something to buy off Newegg
