You've got the raid array set up. You boot with the WinXP CD, then...

Then you F6 to load the raid drivers
Is Windows seeing the array at all?

If so, will it let you choose it as the install drive?
I got that far on one of my installs before windows decided that it could not format my array.

I'm a little unclear on what part of the process is the stopping point for you.

Hold the phone!
Have you tried to install windows after creating the array and exiting the utility?

Yes. The Silicon Image Mode is disabled. I've been trying to install windows after creating the array from the start of this whole mess.

I'm beginning to think this board is faulty.

I make it to windows setup and hit F6. Then after a bit I receive the following.

Setup could not determine the type of one or more mass storage devices installed in your system, or you have chosen to manually specify an adapter. Currently, Setup will load support for the following mass storage devices:

<none>

*To specidy additional SCSI adapter, CD-ROM drives, or special disk controllers for use with Windows, including those for which you have a device support disk from a mass storage device manufacturer, press S.

*If you do not have any device support disks from mass storage device manufacturer, or do not want to specify additional mass storage devices for use with Windows, press ENTER.

After pressing S, I am prompted to insert a disk into drive A.

I try using the Raid Drivers created on a floppy with the MOBO CD RAID driver Utility.

The disk intitializes and then Windows continues to ask for the disk without successfully loading the drivers.

I'm two seconds away from just installing on a single disk again and going with that!

It's going to load the drivers and then ask the same question again. Don't think it didn't load them just because it says that. Tell it to load the drivers you want, and then when it takes you back to that screen again, assume that it has loaded them (it has) and then move on to the install process.

I know it might look as if it is just running in circles, but it isn't.

By the way... for the nvidia set, it will have to load two different drivers, so make sure you go through that process twice, and select the first one the first time, and then the second one. After you do that, then tell it you don't need to load anything else, and move on to the install process. It should have no trouble seeing your array from then on.

Maybe thats what it is, Bio, you thinking its read the floppy but keeps asking for more?
Yeah, just select the two drivers read from floppy then hit enter to continue the install.

When you press S, it just take you to the next screen which asks you to insert the disk into drive A and press ENTER. When I press ENTER it does nothing. The drive intializes the floppy, but then Windows continues to ask for the disk. Disk is good, I formatted it twice and even tried update RAID drivers from ASUS site.

Still no go. The drivers don't load and you can't continue the installation from this point.

Ah, dang!
Make sure your floppy disk controller is enabled in bios. Probably is, but, might as well check.
