Guy´s, should i RMA my graphics cards or should i rma my motherboard? Both cards work fine on their own in any PCIE slot on the mobo. If all else fails, i might just have to buy a single GTX480 but i would rather have 470 SLI. I get a lot of frames but they wont work well together.

ive ruled out software
changed psu
changed memory
tested cards in every mobo slot on their own to rule out a bad slot on the mobo
installed all latest drivers on fresh format
checked all temps
ran stock everything
stressed both cards for errors
everything came back as working perfectly fine.

BUT as soon as i hit the SLI enable button, games play rubbish. vsync removes the stuttering but when i drop below 60, the stutter is back. I dont know what step to take. i have no idea if i need to rma and what i need to rma.

please help.

Sounds like an SLI profile issue IMO... try adjusting profile settings for SLI?
can't remember exact options as I'm not on a decent system ATM...

I am using the same settings as other people are using with their "working" SLI setup.

If you have tried everything I'd call Gigabyte tech support see if they have a fix or know of this issue...
I had issues with an Asus crosshair board/BFG GTX 8800 SLI -The SLI would shut off and on for no reason.
Asus said it was the cards and BFG said it was the board, I never did find out what it was pretty sure it was the motherboard

Yep i tried a different monitor.
Am using VGA with a converter. That should not be a issue because am at 1080p anyway.

OK with the stuttering on 1 card, i got stuttering but vsync fixed the stuttering with 1 card, so 1 card config is fine.

Should i RMA?
Does my mobo even support gtx470 sli? it says on the box it supports 3 way sli and 3 way CF.

It's a long shot, but have you tried using a different SLI bridge? It's not impossible that it's faulty/damaged. Anyways, probably not the problem, but it's easy to rule out, so you might as well do it.
