Fermi issues: Low GPU Usage and Bad Company II Stuttering - Page 30

Dam it. We need those drivers quicky. Also, has anyone here plated Kane and Lynch Dog Days? Ive been playing it. Amazing game. Only trouble is, on one part, there was a lot of smoke due to some explosions and as i walked, i could feel a bit of a stutter/skip in the game and my fps was at 55. If i drop below 60 on this game, it stutters. So i turned vsync off and it feels like a constant stutter due to the very bad lines. How can the line tearing be improved in genenal? Is it due to the monitors response time in ms? My response time is 5ms.

Is it just me or does the 4 series seem to stutter in games? Could my SLI issues just be because this new driver is not released yet?

You know what I think, I think that you're very sensitive to microstutter.
Not meaning this in a bad way, just that 5850CFX was equally problematic for you.

I've ran sli 470 and 480, and they were nice and smooth, still had the occasional hiccup, but nothing too extreme.

And yes BC2 had the hitch with both set ups, but honestly with SLI it was no where as pronounced as the single card hitching.

Bradley, does your monitor say 60Hz or 59Hz in the Nvidia/ATI Control Panel? I noticed a lot of hitches in games when my monitor was at 59Hz in Windows 7. IIRC 60Hz gets truncated down to 59Hz, and that causes a bunch of problems. Some games get buggy with vsync settings if the monitor is not 60Hz in the drivers.

I made a custom resolution with a 60.001Hz refresh rate.

Quote:
- Go to Nvidia Control Panel
- Go to Add resolution
- Create Custom Resolution
- Click on Timing
- Click on Manual
- Set refresh rate to 60.001 Hz

I changed mine to 60hz with custom profile seemed to have did the trick nicely. Thanks

Yes i am sensitive to micro stuttering and i find games stutter far less and feel much smoother with just 1 card in the system rather than 2.

Someone else told me about this as well. I will make a custon res and see if it helps.

The GTX4 series has issues with stuttering on this game. We have to wait for the beta drivers that should have come out monday.
