I played w/ SP wo/ issue, but that was on a 260. The card struggled in MP not because of the stutter/low gpu usage bug, but because MP's soooo much more demanding as you alluded to. Even [H]ardocp tests this game in SP. Of all sites, this would be the one I'd expect to see a fraps run in a hectic 32 person server ON THE FRIGGIN INTERNET. Who plays this alone?

With a recent driver update that supposedly fixed issues with DIRT2 It actually caused me worse problems. before (last driver) the game would just be going fine then lock/lag for about 3-15sec frames super laggy.. then return to normal. Now It does this weird speeding up and slowing down of the frame rate all over the game! I will be racing along and feels like slow mode.. then a super nutzo nitro kicks in and makes up for the frames it forgot when lagging..

I quit playing the game because of it for now till i either get a new card or drivers get fixed. This made me crash and lose couple races super aggravating.

Playing single player on my sig rig, with an xbox 360 controller, I know what your talking about with "online multiplayer lag" but I'm not even playing this game online - I enjoy the computer races good balance of challenge when I set it to 1 flash back per race. - I just flashed my cards bios and installed the newest drivers.. maybe I will get better results (haven't played Dirt2 in a while) .. I was also getting system lockups because the fan would randomly not speed up and the GPU would overheat and trigger a system reboot.

I can happily report that now with latest driver/ re-flashed bios I am playing Fallout New Vegas without any more issues.

Yeah online gaming can bring any killer rig to its knees! The problem with people these days is they overload there rooms thinking that they can host 32 players, they are kidding themselves, lol! You need something special like a T1 with symmetrical upload/download and dynamic monitoring which routes players around excessive traffic on the internet, the internet is still not evolved enough for serious online gaming unless you care to spend a grand a month for the connection!

Just thought I would throw this out there for people to think about, sorry for the OT post but I thought it might be related.

What do you mean DICE? I wasn't talking about LAN servers, but internet gaming servers.

DICE as in the developer of BC2 who has seen fit to disallow myself from creating my own server, whether it be available via LAN or WAN makes no difference. Some of us have pretty decent connections and could reliably host if it weren't for Infinity Ward throwing down the P2P law. Remember BF2? I could easily make a server for some friends and we could play in peace. Now I have to deal w/ online riff raff.

Why play a game that has so many performance issues? Its not like its the only game on the planet, simply play other games that does not have such performance issues! Its like playing with fire, you will get burned.

Not sure why some fermi's had the stuttering and yes, the 470 did have some issues for many people, not all though! My single and double GTX470 had huge issues in all games as well as BFBC2, that's why i made this thread

I recently got BattleField Bad Company 2 on my PC and getting extremely poor performance. I run the game at 6050x1080 (5760x1080 bezel corrected) and I get average frame rates around 30 with frequent dips of 20 fps. I tried multiple settings such as turning off AA and AF, along with HBAO. After lowering the resolution to 1920 x 1080, lowering shadow and texture settings, and turning multiple settings to off I get an average of roughly 45 fps. I have tried both DX11 and DX9 settings, neither seem to make a significant impact on the game's performance. This performance is outstandingly bad and after viewing benchmarks of 460 SLI (which is slightly worse) I think I should be getting 2-3 times the performance. I have the most recent drivers. I'm thinking my PSU might be to blame, but I never get any crashes. What is going on here? The rest of my system is as follows.

Intel Q6600 Quad Core OC'd to 3.55GHZ
G.Skill DDR2 Ram 4gb (2x2gb) 800mhz
ASUS P5N-D 750i Motherboard
PC Power and Cooling 750w Power Supply
2 X PNY Nvidia GTX 470
3 x Alienware AW2310 Monitors
