OK, I have no idea what artifacts are, so it doesn't do me much good when I'm lookg for them, could meon gveme a good explnation?? also how can I prevent them? is it caused by heat and will cooling my card reduce them?
thanks...

Its caused by to much heat on your gpu. You'll know when you see them though(pixelations of usually green and purple all over the screen).

Artifacts are graphical glitches, they can be lines poping out of nowhere, or dots of color, or snow or anything that shouldn't be there. They occur when there is some sort of instability, either clock speeds are too high or or things are too hot. If you're overclocking you want to watch for anything out of the ordinary, if you see "artifacts" then lower your clocks until you don't see them. If you're stock and seeing artifacts then it's either bad card or heat, most likely heat.

Your OC limit on a video card is usually determined by artifiacts ^^.

I am not certain your artifacts are the card... you might not have the power to supply the whole system... is that a typo of 250w PSU? if not.. look at upgrading it... and then as long as you're not OC'ing crazy like, throw in an extra exhaust fan.

question for others more in the know--possible answer to "artifacts looking"

Can he d/l any ot the ATI tuners...are there compatable ones?

so he can let the little spinning cube show him an artifact in real time--and possibly show up if other hardware faults are present if the cube don't shw artifacting with the non-clocked cards?
