However you have PC4000 so you will still have more than most. People are putting in 4 sticks of 512MB PC3200 and are having trouble getting back to DDR400. You will be able to get above it but you will most likely not get back to where you are now with the 2x512 of VX. You may have to rework how you get to your 2.8 or you may not reach it at all. Now I may be way off but this is how I think it would be in your case. Better choice would be the 2 1GB sticks. I just invested in the OCZ Gold PC4000 2x1GB kit and will be unloading the Platinums soon.

Please keep me updated on how this goes.

Running your ram on a divider is the only option you'll have. The ram is by default dropped to the divider because all 4 rams slots are filled. By overclocking you'll be able to bring it back up, possibly 1:1.

It sounds to me like 2x 1gig of PC-4000 is the way to go.

2x1GB is more expencive, but it works faster because the mobo doesnt have to work with 4 sticks. 4x512 is ok, and it will probebly be the way i go (im poor). But if you have the money, but the 2x1GB.
