Alright team, as everyone knows, the GTX 580 was released today. Luckily I purchased my 480 less than 3 months ago so this morning I started the step-up process for the 580. I am number 70 in the queue as of now and am not sure how long it will take to be my turn. When the time comes, I will be without a fermi for a week or so. This is just a forewarning. I dont want to leave the team but if I am replaced, I understand.

There is also the possibility that a friend of mine will let me borrow one of his 480s but I haven't asked him yet.

Well I will have my 480 back by then so we can just switch spots for a bit if you want. Unfortunately for me I got an email back from Intel saying that they probably wont honor the warranty because the ink that they use to write the information on the chip was weak and wiped off of my processor. What do they expect? I had to RMA my motherboard so many times that I had to pull my CPU out of my board and put it in a new one like weekly since I bought it so now I will probably be stuck with my problem as I see now way of me getting a new CPU anytime in the near future.

Oh and AWG Happy early Birthday Jarhead,,,Semper Fi (I know that it isn't until tomorrow the and by tomorrow I mean after midnight)

Edit: I tested my PSU (As my PSU tester arrived today in the mail) and my results were a bit disappointing. My -12v was at 11.61v and I'm worried about that but most of all, it didn't pass the test so I have started my RMA with ABS. I swear I am just about to say screw it and buy a premade next time lol. It makes me feel like the money I spent on my Computer and Electronics Engineering schooling was a waste lol($36000)

Good news though, My eVGA GTX 480 SC RMA return is on it's way back to me. They didn't have anymore 480s in stock so they had to send me a 580 instead.... Oh I'm joking but I wish they sent me one. My card will be here on Friday Happy dance time.....

They are made by swiftech so they should be but the price here is huge compared to the reference model so i will get the 580 and by a EK Full Coverage block it is cheaper then the Hydro
post #1187 of 11102
But the hydro has a fancy looking light for the eVGA logo... the regular one doesn't. Also the block that it has on it is a FULL card block that covers the entire card. With that said it will probably be better at cooling the entire thing. It will probably allow the card to OC much farther than a partial block would.

I have good news and bad news again guys.
The good news. I got a response from ABS about my PSU. They are having Newegg RMA it for me.

The bad news, Unless when I call Newegg, they say that they will cross ship. Then I am stuck having my entire computer down while the PSU ships to them and then I have to wait for the new one to ship back to me. But hopefully that will help with some of my stability issues. Apparently the testing I did last night was sufficient because I gave them my results and they were quick to RMA it for me.

I have a little quiz for you Repo, since your a English major. What is the shortest complete sentence in the English language?

Oh and Cygnus, check the prices from the eVGA site instead of newegg because the prices on eVGA are a lot cheaper than on Newegg, even after the rebate from newegg.

It's also the longest sentence. It's "I do."

Lol that is the longest sentence as in a life sentence lol but it is not the shortest complete sentence in the English language...
Actually the word "go" could suffice, I'm pretty sure, since the subject could be implied and is common with the English language.
