If you read the novel that I wrote up above, I do mention the AMD and Intel have different thermal tolerances and that AMD's is much lower than Intel's.
I'm going out on a limb and I'm gonna guess that the answer is no. Chances are that they will only allow 1 of the GPU's from a 590 for the competition though they should allow both seeing as the slot is for Fermi card and the 590 just so happens to be a Fermi card (a Fermi card on steroids but one none the less). If it was a "legal" matter then it would be as that would be a loop hole but of course the court of Zodac isn't officially recognized by any countries... yet.
