@zodac: This is why I was under that impression.

I'll pm a passkey for my GTX 570 and pm Cait everyday for a couple of weeks. If we don't hear back then I'll give the word and we'll make some permanent changes. Let's make up for lost time.

Sorry for the foul-up guys. There was obviously some miscommunication. I guess once the current WU finishes then I will switch back to a windows environment b/c my computer has to be usable and I hear that folding cpu & gpu in ubuntu slows it to a crawl.

All good, I'm holding 2nd in amd category! No way I can catch 1337lutz on a w/c'd 5850 at ~1050, but i'm pulling 9200 PPD at 940Mhz! Got a stable clock for folding, but run hots in games

Do you have another machine running M$ on your network......? Could you install HFM on the M$ machine and connect to a shared folder on the Ubuntu machine..?

BTW, if you go back to M$ for this Folding rig, in order to Fold on the GPU, then you won't be able to get the bigbeta WUs, so your PPD would drop............................maybe it'd be better if Larry uses one of his GPUs instead... (Presuming he has one that isn't Folding for Mach1 after their challenge)

Oh, and I've updated my site a bit....might want to update the OP..

No, I only have one desktop in my house. I wanted to build a budget amd box to fold gpu and use as my main computer and then have my x6 just folding away but Im just a student right now living off of intern pay so I am not gonna be able to afford it for a while...Im saving up for the transformer 2

Also, I did switch back to M$ but am still willing to go back to linux. But if I do, I will be ONLY folding the cpu. Its all up to the captain.

Hey guys, I am going to be making some changes around here. We are going to retire Cait, and bring in a new Fermi folder. I'm sad to see her go but we haven't heard from her in a long while and she's not folding anymore. I just wanted to inform you all that we're gonna have some changes.

Thank you. It wasn't an easy decision to make as I hate to lose one of our team mates. It's weird having you call me captain as I have always called you that lol. So if all goes well, and we get a new team mate, then Austin, you will take over as the permanent i7 folder with your I7-970 and we will have the new team mate come in as the Fermi folder with his GTX 580. So does that sound good to you old salty dogs? If not... Too bad. You don't like it then you can walk the plank... Ok I'm joking. I do value each and every one of your opinions. So please let me know what you think.

Sounds like a solid plan to me. That 970 is a beast and will be a great asset to the team!
