I swapped the fan in it because I broke the stock one with an air compressor. Its replacement must not move enough air.

You should get a Silverstone Air Penetrator 140mil. I heard those have huge cfm and aren't noisy at all. Stll, my TX750 doesn't get that hot. It's also strange that you get less PPD than Mako with a 125MHz advantage. Do you have a different PSU?

I have another PSU but its not enough to run it all. Is there a way to hook up 2 PSUs?

Yes, although it requires some effort to get it done properly. You need to get the PSUs in phase. You can do that with a handy adapter like this or electrically connecting the PSUs manually.

Read here on that:

http://tomorrowsgaming.com/modding-workshop/4252.htm

Just put as few as possible components on the second PSU in case of failure. Less risk of bricking stuff.

Best long term solution would be to use a single powerful PSU though. I did see people using multi PSU setups for several years though.

I was gonna ask if that 750 Corsair would be enough for a 580 with a good OC and whatever else you are going to be doing but I figured you had that all sorted out. Seems like you would need at least 900 or more to be comfortable with all you got going on with the WC, the OCing and Folding. i have overkill with my 1250 but I know that will be able to add whatever I want and not have to worry about my PSU.

8043 1:42 TPF 20.2k PPD @ 975 MHz 46c

I haven't gotten an 8043 on my 580, only one so far on my 470.
1:53 TPF, 18,251 ppd on my 470 at 815 MHz.

I've gotten one 8054 on my 580, same points value and atom size as the 8043, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will be anywhere near the same TPF/PPD.
1:15 TPF, 27,498 ppd on my 580 at 975 MHz.

Well normally it would. TX750s are beasts if cooled properly and not bricking the fan Element rolleyes.gif. I had quad SLI GTX 295, GTX 295 + 2x 9800GTX, tri SLI 9800GTX and dual 470s OC'ed and my i7 on this PSU from 2008 to now. It still works without problems. I'd say under normal circumstances it should be able to carry that load.

I don't think a 580 + 680 use more than quad GTX 295 or dual OC'ed GTX 470s.

Heh, glad the PSU and heat subject came up, it made me remember that I haven't cleaned the air filter for the PSU in my main rig since April or so.redface.gif

Just checked my EOC profile this morning, I've been on fire the past three days! All above 42k! These are the WUs I've been waiting for all month!
