Brass Bottom Boys - Page 47

Yeah that sounds like it might just be foo foo enough for you man.... Maybe not now that I think about it

Hey off subject guys, Do any of you know if there is anything that I can do to my SMP client so that my GPU client will get more PPD (I.E. throttle down my SMP client or something that way there is more system resources for my GPU to utilize)? If so how do you do it =D

Change the priority for the cores so that the GPU client is higher. That way it gets all the clock cycles it needs and not competing with the CPU.

Thanks for the advice AWG... So now there is another Saga in my computer woes. I turn my system on today and it decides that it doesn't want to detect all of my Ram. So I pull sticks (because I have 6 X 2GB stick in there) and isolated the problem to either the motherboard or the Memory controller on the CPU. So I called Asus and have started the ball rolling on my 3rd RMA (3rd for my computer, not with Asus) and if that fails then I'll end up having to start a RMA with Intel (which I might just do to see if I get a much better batch number or "Golden Chip"). I'm telling you guys, This is one thing after another. I'm really starting to think that I'm just not destined for such a awesome computer lol. At least the Motherboard or CPU problems explains my stability issues that I have been having. At this rate I will end up with all re-manufactured parts in my computer (which I prefer because they have a much more stringent testing process so I know that the part that I am getting is going to work.) Im going to do the advance RMA process (if my paperwork goes through) so I should at least not be down for more than a day but still my computer is busted

Damn man, that's some horrible luck you're having. You'll get it all sorted eventually.

CyGnus are you going to be attempting bigadv on your X6 again? Looks like most of the other teams are headed in that direction.

Everyone else still chugging along alright?

Yeah I'm still folding. I haven't been as consistent as I was in the beginning. I'll try to fix that.

Lawrence, when do you think you will be back?

Well I'm in the process of RMA'n my card and my motherboard (but I can still use my computer without the RMA for the Motherboard because it still works, it just doesn't work with all my ram (only 4 gigs shows up out of my 12gigs i have) so as soon as I get my new video card from EVGA and get it all configured and good to go, then I will be ready to take the torch from you. Unless you wouldn't mind hanging in there for a little bit extra (it would be before the end of the moth for sure, well at least I hope so) until I have my motherboard taken care of so that I can jump head first in on folding and not stop for anything. I'm thinking of RMA'n my CPU while I'm at it since it could be the memory controller on my i7 that's causing my issue but might wait until i find out for sure with the new mobo. It would be nice to get some good luck after all of this bad luck and get a golden chip returned to me from my RMA of the CPU. But then again, with the way my luck is going lately, I'd probably get a crap CPU in the return lol.

Oh I've been pretty stable today. I'll be folding until Friday afternoon. After that, I'm leaving to head back to my parents house for the weekend. I don't know if I should leave my PC on unattended...
