I was relieved and annoyed at the same time. I was never that worried about it because I figured it would work fine out of the case again, its just annoying that the board is so finicky.
I'm actually glad that it does this tbh. I would have fried my board 5 times over if it would power up while the extensions caught fire
I do get what you mean though. The instant the board doesn't post will make you think something expensive must have died. Makes me shiver each time
I'm not upgrading my BIOS any time soon. Really love the Raw processing power and 100+Gb/s Bandwidth of this system though. Rips through renders and simulations vs dual channel 2600K lol. In Cinebench the performance is a bit disappointing tbh, but real world renders with tiny particles or voxel size are impressive (up to 3.5x speed up over a 5.2GHz 2600K). It just reads/writes from/to the RAM so incredibly fast...
Latency could be somewhat better if apps would actually be coded for NUMA archs and this board would allow me to OC my RAM
