Wow... you can almost hear the crickets chirping from this thread. I just hope that it means that everyone is extremely busy with their computer systems. So for that, I wish you all good luck. I was wondering if any of you would mind a little bit of a challenge. I would like to see if each and every one of you could come up with a build for a water cooling loop for my 2 computers. Each loop would be separate and have its own budget. If you could help me figure out all of tje parts needed for each setup. I would prefer to have maximum cooling potential (So CPU specific blocks and full coverage blocks for my GPU's) and I want for it to look elegant yet really damn cool. So any idea's would be great. Please don't take away from your current projects and please only help out in your off times. You can send me an email o my Overclocked email address which is lawrencendlw@overclocked.net. Thanks in advanced guys and I look forward to seeing your amazing Ideas. So Below will be a list of the parts that I have to work with.

Folding Rig 1

CPU = Intel Core i7-960
Motherboard = Asus P6X58D PREMIUM
RAM= CORSAIR DOMINATOR DDR3-1600 (8-8-8-24-1T)
Graphics Cards = eVGA GTX 480 Superclocked + and PNY GTX 480 XLR8 (2 of these PNY cards to deal with for a total of 3-Way SLI)
PSU = Corsair AX1200
Case Cooler Master HAF X (with HAF 932 door for better cooling options)
Hard Drives are various WD Caviar Black and Green from 1 TB to 3 TB Plus OCZ Agility III 240 GB for Boot Drive

Folding Rig 2

CPU = Intel Core i7-920
Motherboard = Gigabyte EX58-UD4P
RAM = Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600 (8-8-8-24-1T)
Graphics Card = PNY GTX 570 XLR8 OC
PSU = ABS Dark Beret 1000 Watt
Case = Cooler Master HAF X Blue Edition
Hard Drives Various WD Caviar Black and Green From 1 TB to 3 TB + Crucial M4 128 GB for Boot drive

I blame... Uhm.... Skyrim, Hitman:Absolution, and even Deus Ex:Human Revolution Director's... There was also shopping for more assassin snails for the 20gallon (up to four now), weekly maintenance on fish tanks, and today's newest thing - troubleshooting what seems to be a faulty heater for my 20 gallon tank since the thermometer I put in yesterday doesn't match up at all with what the heater is set at! (Aka thermometer is reading at 29C (aka 84F more or less) while it's set at 77F. Even reads that way when set at 73F too). Oh, and watching Hunter (my halfmoon four coloured betta fish) freak out over the slight changes to his tank. He spazzed out for like 10 minutes when he finally saw the Nerite snail now in his tank, I so should have video taped it since he was being more overdramatic than teenage kids...

Nate, I'll about some specifics when I get some free time, but for now, I'd say consider if you're going to keep those fermis or upgrade them as well. If you're going to upgrade them, it'd really be investment lost to get full coverage blocks. They always cost more up front and users lose money on them if they try to resell them. They're really only worth the larger cost (in my opinion) if you're going to keep the cards long-term. If you're looking to upgrade soon, I'd say hold off and get full cover blocks for the new cards.

As for cpu block, I'm running the EK Supremacy (link) on my cpu and love it. Paul and Toast are using the same block as well on their intels. Really great block with good performance.

Wulfe, that sounds like a really nice tank man. Is that the one you've posted pics of before?

Edit: Ok, what the crap. EOC and Stanford are not counting my points. I've put down 3 WUs today and none of them have showed up yet. Anyone else having an issue like this?

Duh, didn't think to check other users. Must be an issue on Stanford's side then. I won't sweat it then, lol.

Yeah, I really really should have. Had this neat kind of choreographed dance look to it as well. I claim my phone was on the charger at the time tongue.gif

Hunter's tank is the 10 gallon I've posted pics of, as it has a lot more interesting things going on with it. He'll also actually stop and pose for pictures, whereas I swear my guppies are smuggling in Red Bull! I'll probably add a second nerite snail to his tank simply because just one has it's work cut out for it. Joys of being my mid-high light setup. Well, 30 watts of lighting into 10 gallons of water tends to breed more algae than 15 watts into a tall 20 gallon.

The one with what I think is a faulty heater would be my guppy tank which in all honesty I can't remember if I've posted any pics of it yet. I prefer the Eheim Jager heaters anyways, as they blend in slightly better not to mention can be calibrated. They also have this neat orange glow to them when they kick in, as opposed to the red LED robot searchlight of death the marineland ones have tongue.gif

Next year we upgrade to three larger tanks (two 75 gallon in the living room, and probably a 40 gallon in the bedroom. First 75 will be some sort of asian river theme (I would go Amazonian or South American but most of my favourite fish and plants are Asian) and second will be a replica mountain range. Haven't decided on a theme for the 40 that will go in the bedroom yet, but that one is probsbly a year away so I have plenty of time to decide - might just "cheat" and go with some sort of guppy exploration driftwood and low light plant setup) tongue.gif
