HAF-X for Watercooling?

Thread Starter
I bought all the watercooling parts for a new build then I bought a CoolerMaster HAF-X to encase it all. I ran into some problems that I want to share with you so you won't make the same mistake I did. I decided to use a questionairre type of thread that I sincerely wish that someone else posted before I bought this case for watercooling.
1. Will a 3x120mm radiator fit in the top? Yes it will. I tried a Thermochill 120.3 and it fits perfectly though the fans atop it will not fit flush with the radiator as they should for maximum airflow. It can be easily modded using a cut up pvc seal that is made for this specific radiator or some equivalent material then use another seal for excellent suction.
2. Will it also hold 3 radiator fans on the bottom for a push/pull system? No. Your mobo will be in the way.
3. Can I use a shroud? Nope! (Read #2.)
4. Is this case usable for watercooling at all? Yes. With a lot of modding. With the 3 top fans installed it will be as Thermochill intended the radiator to be used. As a pull system with the fans pulling air through the radiator. Not pushing air through it.
5. Can I use a 2x120 radiator in the front of the case? No. Not without extensive modding.
6. What now? 1st, this is an excellent case for air-cooling. That's what it was engineered and manufactured for. The fit and finish are top notch, it will surely out last me. Most likely, I'll buy a Corsair H-70 watercooler for it when, "SUPPOSEDLY", they become available August 1st. (On a Sunday?), since the rear 140 mm fan mount also has holes for a 120mm fan which, (coincidentally?) are the same size as a Corsair watercooler radiator mount. I've just ordered the optional 200mm fan for the top http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/...roducts_id=553 before they sell out, and I'll be using this case as CoolerMaster intended, i.e., for AIR-cooling.
All the watercooling components I've amassed over the past few months will be boxed and stored until I find a proper case that is primarily intended to be watercooled. So, I'm really not out any money just delayed on this project for a while.
Do yourself a big favor, ASK the fine people in this forum BEFORE buying anything! Yes, you'll sound like a complete NOOB, but so what? At least you'll be an informed, much wiser semi-NOOB! It's a win-win situation.

HAF X is nice case, but if you planning go for WC, and want have less problems with spacing components – go for HAF 932 or SilverStone full tower cases.
I was expecting more from HAF X.

I think cooler master missed the whole premise of the HAF series.. A High Air Flow case that does air cooling and water cooling equally as well. It looks like they decided to only do the air part.

I love my HAF-X for water cooling. Sure there are better cases out there but its far better than other Air-cooling cases such as the antec 1200 when it comes to water cooling.

That being said, I do kind of wish I bought a corsair 800d instead of mine =/

Really? His read scared me when I read the part it will NOT fit a push/pull config. at the top..

I bought TFC triple rad. It's quite thick. Hope it has enough space for a push/pull...
