Thread Starter
i just got a dfi expert, and this g skill hz, but i can't get xp to load. if i put my old corsairs ram in it boots fine. before i installed the new parts in my case i tested the g skill in my asus a8n-e and was able to oc to ddr540 with no problems. i got this g skill because its suppose to run great on dfi mobos.
theres alot of hype here about this ram and thats why i bought it but i'm ready to rma it back to newegg. can someone who has a set up like mines please help me its probably something minor....i hope

What slots do you have your memory in?

The orange slots work the best the yellows have issues.

Hi Duke,

ItsLasher's advice was on the money, I was able to boot into xp with no problem and was also able to run the G Skillhz at ddr500. Right now I'm running at ddr540 but, I'm still tweaking and also need to test for stability.

About the lates BIOS,
do you think it'll help my overclock?

if so,

what BIOS do you recommend? (considering my system)

thnx

yes, the yellow does have issues, my pc won't boot up in the yellow slots, but after switching to orange, it ran perfectly (so far)

The DFI Expert uses the yellow slots for more than two sticks of ram, they don't "have issues", they just weren't intended to be used alone.
