Best DFI board?

Thread Starter
I am thinking of getting a new mobo... and i really would like a new DFI board for overclocking reasons. But I dont know which is the best to get... I have heard about problems with the expert and memory... and the same with the SLi-DR. Price is no issue and i wont be using the SLi. What is the best DFI board in your opinion?

Deffinetly the Venus
This thing is just a beautiful board. Plus it comes with a sweet box. If I'm not mistaken Crash just recently purchased one of these.

Most likely the LanParty SLi-DR Venus. Crash got one, they're about $300.

DFI-LanParty Venus, It is a limited edtion and very hard to find.

IMHO I would reccomend the SLI-DR over the Expert.

Good luck finding one. They only made 1000 of them. You could always stick with Asus and get the A8N32-SLi Deluxe. VERY rock solid board. Has way more OIC options then the other SLi boards from Asus.

Yeah... The Venus is a great Mobo. I saw a couple on E-Bay. theres also a store in canada thats still got a few I think.

But I would stay away from the Expert. I dont think the Dr's have had the problems the Expert has.

Dudes.....the Venus is done being produced. And the only real difference is that it has Japanese-made capacitors and they FINALLY moved the memory slots to a better locale. I know it's a kickass board, but out of the question, although I'm sure Crash would sale his if the price is right

I recommend the SLI-DR. I havn't heard of any memory issues with it. There are specific BIOS's depending on what kind of memory your using, so it's always good to do your research about what BIOS to use with what memory. I 100% believe the SLI-DR is the best DFI board out (sub 300 dollars of course, lol)

Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D

Just got mine yesterday, but I can not tell you how great it is from personal experience. Thought I had a 20 to 24 pin adaptor with my PSU, ooppps, guess not. Will have to wait until Wednesday to get it up and running.

Few connection/layout issues I do not like, but overall a very well built board. So if you indeed are not interested in SLI then this board might be a good option for you. I did a lot of research and it won out in the end. There are some informative and objective reviews out there about this board. Good luck.

Although I am having a few hassles with mine at the moment (TEC problems) the only issue has been it not enjoying Hynix IC chips for the ram. Apart from that it is a very good and user fiendly motherboard
