Actually anything can crash and restart and the system can still be fine. but with windows, if explorer.exe crashes, its kaput. I actually recommend SusE Linux Enterprise server9 or any other buisness edition of linux. But the support is more expensive and harder to find. and yes Xp pro is faster than home, it supports more advanced data sorting. Why would the addons slow it down? that would be hardware. they all still use the same kernal. And i didnt understand any of your numbers.
<dr fooken sez>Got ya! But for then. ( a sorta syllogixm) sic....
Dude! You Linux boys are so sensitive. Sure it's a great O/s. Yep. great for biz too. Yeah, ya only load what ya need. But my major point there was: Media (the PROGRAM) prolly should run slower due to "add-ons" in the program--not to the computer. ie, Overhead. Inverse wise, what I mean about business--is that much of WINDOWS is lost to business...because of early legacy biz 'uses.' Lots of wasted space there. (IF, yer not in business)
Sorry if I got ya all confused--it's late here. Thanks for the patience.
