Don't double-click the file. That executes it.

Right-click it and then click "edit". Paste in the code line.

File > Save, and then close it.

Yep. Had full memory, ROPs, memory clock, bandwidth etc... of the GTX 470. The unlocking really was a snap. I don't think my X4 955 at 3.4 Ghz would be holding it back at 1680x1050 enough to matter. The only thing different from most of you is the use of XP and DX9.

That may be the culprit right there.

Got my card 2 hours ago. I got a nice even number, 0200. Since it seems like the lower numbered cards are oc'ing a little better this makes me happy.

W00t!

Just unlocked my card without a hitch! Full ROPs, RAM, and Shaders recognized

On to overclocking bishes!

EDIT: Card idles around 40C at 40% fan at the moment (no reseat or anything). Ambient temps of 78F. Under load using EVGA OC Scanner, it maxes out at 73C and 70% fan speed. Not too loud at all if you ask me. BF:BC2 easily drowns out the fan noise.

Voltage is reading as 1.05 in Afterburner without any tweaks, but this is after the flash. Not sure what the stock VID was. I'm going to go for an OC now to try and get 800

I take it on nVidia cards, core and shader clock has more effect than RAM oc?

I hate life, and UPS.

Was supposed to get it today. Found out early this morning wouldn't get it until tomorrow.

Good to hear almost everybody is having great success though.

And I guess it's even.

I have a total of 6 case fans and 2 rad fans for my H50, I'm guessing I have enough airflow.
Phaedra, are you using the fans on your H50 as intake by any chance?

Maybe the warm air from your H50 is "cooling" your card? If the surface looks even and you've reapplied the TIM several times, then maybe you should have checked the temps before flashing the card, just to make sure that's not the issue (although it shouldn't be if the voltage hasn't increased too much or at all).

DX9 and XP could be causing the problems here. Maybe try reflashing the card with a different BIOS just to see if the performance changes.

What BIOS did you flash with for that VID. Seems high to me, but you may be able to get a decently high overclock without having to adjust the voltage.

Personally, I'd find my limit on the core (first) and memory (second) and then get them stable together.

I won't get mine until the end of the week.

In the meantime, I've updated the Google spreadsheet with the new numbers and the unlock success of those particular cards.

BIOS that I flashed was the "Best performing GTX470 (limit to 1.15)" by grunion. When sitting idle, Afterburner reads the voltage at .963. It's only when stressing that it gets up to 1.05v.

Considering how much of an upgrade this card is from my 5770, I may just leave her at the stock 701 and see how low I can make the voltage to minimize fan noise and heat. Although, once I get back into my apartment at school, I'll have 68F ambients, so the overclocking should be GREAT!

So far, this card is awesome! I've already done 750/1500/1848 with the stock voltage and temps are maxing at 74C with 70% fan speed. I like! That's cooler than my 5770 ran! Albeit a bit louder, but not by much! I will continue the OC'ing tomorrow. For now, I'll play a little BC2 to work the card out in some games!

Cheerio everyone! Good luck with your cards tomorrow!
