Hey... why are you "looking for MSI 465 GE's" instead of just buying some?

Is there a reason you can't buy any?

Aww shucks. If I could have verification from you that you would buy the card off of me, I would order another and hold it for you

I know that's not easy to do though. Plus I'd have to ship it to you, which would cost another $7-10.

Let me know though if you are interested, maybe we can work something out.

What's the clock to clock advantage a GTX 480 has over a GTX 470? Like 10%? In theory a GTX 470 OC'd to 880-900/2000 will match a GTX 480 at 800/2000?

Well the 480 has 7% more shaders than the 470, so it's likely that the 470 would have to be clocked at the very least 7-10% higher than the 480 to match it. And even then, you have less VRAM.

I haven't been able to get my unlocked 465/470 to run stable at any clocks over 774/2000, with MSI afterburner and votage tweaks. But then again, I'm a huge NOOB with all of this.

So before you go buying these cards to unlock AND overclock, there may need to be some newer better bios releases, etc.

Also, I have talked to a couple of people that are having trouble with the flash. I had some trouble too initially, and BlahBlahBlah did as well. I'm thinking we should write up a new unlocking guide for THIS particular card so that others that follow will have no doubts and will be able to flash their cards much easier. (and not have to bounce around to 20 different sites to get all the directions to make it happen)

Those that are wanting to do this, rest assured that it is VERY easy, if you do the steps perfectly right the first time. So if anyone wants to help me write up a guide, let me know.

Hey man,

I think it would be great if you wrote up a guide that helped unlock both the shaders and the extra RAM. And don't be shy! You can easily do it yourself... you don't need anyone to help! Just be sure to give credit where credit is due! It'll definitely be a good way to contribute to the community and to acquire some reputation!

I really want to grab a second one of these, but I need my 460s to sell first. So closeeeeee. I really don't want to miss out and Newegg go out of stock while I'm looking for a buyer >(
