as for the fan, i took the card out and fiddled with the fan and it somehow got alot better. Or maybe the fan bearings "burned in" or whatever. Either way it is much better for me now.
Yea I will mess with it on Saturday. To lazy to atm. I need to install a new 140mm fan and switch the fans on my H50 to some 1450 rpm Scythe GT's. It looks like the fan and its small bracket comes off very easy, 3-4 screws max.

I agree that we need more overclocking results on the first page along with what bios everyone is using to attain those clocks

I got #1429 and #1488 today. #1488 is perfect, but #1429 looks like it got smashed partially with a big bend in the copper near the right side fan if you look straight at it. The card itself seems to function fine but the heat sink is not mounted securely and runs about 7-10 degrees hotter at idle and about 15 degrees hotter under load. Mind you, I'm in a basement and the cards have 1 inch gap between them.

Gonna try to address the heat sink mounting issues with #1429 before I flash them.

How are you guys figuring out your VIDs? I'm not a newb, but can't seem to figure this out..

Kay, I threw up some Vantage benchies in a new thread ... looking at SLI, Flash, and Overclock scaling, both in Performance and Extreme Mode (hint: Extreme gives better scaling).

If SOMEONE could put up a response on there so I don't look like a total dipstick, that'd be cool

Has anyone used that Asus unlocker tool on this instead of flashing the bios with all these different bioses around? Perhaps using that unlocker would be ideal for those with higher VID.

Why is it I always get ****ty chips... is it safe to push 1.1v + with another bios as long as temps are cool?>
First off, you should CHILL, brother

Seriously, I've owned 3 470's, and not one of them would stably do any higher than 800/1700, I kid you not. The best OC'er I got did 790/1790.

Your card is a monster at those clocks you're hitting. Just cause some people are getting a little higher, don't sweat it man. Cards are gonna vary like this. You didn't get a ****ty card, believe me. You're gonna end up like a couple % fps lower than the best OC'er of this bunch. It's really no biggie ... be happy
