Why is it I always get ****ty chips... is it safe to push 1.1v + with another bios as long as temps are cool?>
The first and only bios I have tried right now is grunions best performing and my stock memory is 1848.

Maybe give that a try and see if it works for you? I'm not very knowledgeable in overclocking video cards but if I remember correctly the memory clock isn't a big deal compared to the other clocks. I could be wrong though for this card

What BIOS did you use exactly? There seem to be a few modded, modded BIOS files floating around.

How about getting a little some love from my 465GE homeys going on my thread, yo?

Here's a little taste of the Unlocked + OC'd SLI'd 465's to pretty up this here thread:

Great thread, brett. I've linked it in the OP under "Performance". Hope you don't mind.

It'll give a general idea of which cards have been distributed a little easier.

I know it's set up for numerical order now, but people are also listed that have two cards, it throws off the order a little.

Again, this is just a suggestion. I'm cool with whatever Frosty88 wants to do. I'm just a sucker for organizing stuff.
I've added another spreadsheet at your request. Let me know if you'd like it changed in any other way.

To spreadsheet updater(s). I have card 1955, unlocked perfectly in one try, and currently running the BIOS i found in NCspecV81's rarpack at 800/1600/1800/1.087. Default of that BIOS is 800/1600/2000/1.087 - ran fine in OCCT for 15-20 minutes before system crashed. Debating if I want to try a different BIOS.

These clocks are too high for aircooling imho. Midway between gtx470 & 480 clocks with 1.05v is where mine seems happy, with temp peaking in the low 80C's. Will try replacing the heatsink compound soon with Gelid GC-3 compound, can someone suggest a best spreading pattern for this direct-contact heatsink design?

You can try an unmodified BIOS. Maybe the EVGA GTX 470 SC BIOS, found in this thread: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/7097...ng-thread.html

Also, I've updated the spreadsheets with your info.

I think NCspecV81 saw decent results by literally gobbing the TIM on his card. I guess the surface wasn't perfectly even and needed more TIM in some places than others.

How are you temps right now?

Just edited my post. Realized the rarpack I used was NCspecV81's and not kidwolf's.

If I am getting stable @ 800/1600/1800/1.087... is there any reason to fix something that ain't broken? Those seem pretty high compared to what I've been reading.

@rms - when it was at 800/1600/2000/1.087, it peaked at 85C at 65% fan I believe. I should have ran it at 100% fan speed... might've prevented the crash when I was running OCCT.

If it's completely stable then stick with that BIOS. I only suggested the stock BIOS because it sounded like you were concerned about the card being overclocked 24/7. Your temps are fine though, so I'd just leave it and enjoy the performance increase.

Hehe thanks. It's not overclocked "24/7" it underclocks pretty low when it's idling... I idle at like 39C and my room is pretty toasty. My EVGA GTX260 idle'd at 43-45C... so I'm pretty happy with my idle performance and max performance.

I will run some tests tonight with 100% fan speed and see what happens.

I just downloaded OC Scanner. Would that be better vs OCCT? How long should I run the tests for in order to ensure stability?

Unlocked #1865 last night. I tried KidWolfs, grunion, evgaSC and finally got it stable with the MSI 470 stock.
