That worked. I'm back in. Freaked out for a second there. So, what should I do? Leave it as is and game with it? Or what. I'm new to this stuff. Also, is there any way to see what caused it to happen?

Your clocks are probably too high or you don't have enough voltage. It's happened to me a handful of times. I suggest giving the bios I'm recommending a try and making it at least OC Scanner artifact free. At that point it doesn't matter what OCCT says for everyday use imo

I'm gonna need to reinstall drivers for that bios, right? In this one, i'm 700/1400/1848 1.062v. Should I increase voltage and try again?

1 solid hour with absolutely zero artifacts with that overclock!!!!

I just increased the core to 800 MHz and got a couple of artifacts right away, so now I'm trying 775 MHz! So far, no artifacts, but it's only been 2 minutes.

Aw man! I want to start talking with others who have high card numbers like mine.

You may be new, but you're gaining the experience I was talking about before. So this is awesome: you're well on your way to being one of the "experts", giving advice and excellent help to others in the future. I guarantee it! I mean, I am living proof of that.

Probably not - unless you're anal about it being a clean switch. At worst, Windows will do it for you if it's necessary. Then you'll be asked to reboot, and then it'll be all set to go.

Definitely. But did it start at 1.062V? Is that the default?

It starts at 1.062v. First, I need to know what caused it to crash like that in the first place. Is there a record?

Whoa. Is it that grunion BIOS that has the 1.15V max? I mean, mine started at 1.100V! Maybe I need to re-flash it!

Well, I think the Gold Edition is a better buy for 3 reasons: it's a limited edition, it runs much cooler than a regular 470, and it looks absolutely amazing.

Maybe you don't. My system took a crap at that voltage. I just need to know what to adjust here. I don't know why it failed in the first place. Could really use some advice here guys. Up the voltage and try again? If so, what voltage? Or do I try another bios? I'd like to see if I can get this one stable first.
