I recommend flashing it to one of the modified BIOS versions. I haven't had any 1.087V limits with them.

If you want to know how to flash, then ask me because I'm prepared with an answer that is pretty simplified.

Because WoW is mostly dependent on the CPU.

Yeah I heard about that, didn't know it would drag my FPS down so low though even with a way better card =\\ What speed would be good for 60 FPS in combat?

Umm how do I check? My PSU is a good 630W one.

For those that actually took apart the heatsink, do you know what brand memory chips are used on these cards? The reason being the memory timings/other configs may be slightly different with other cards that either use Samsung or Hynix chips. If we have a card with Hynix chips and used a bios that's rigged for cards with Samsung chips, perhaps we'd have more trouble overclocking and getting it stable.

Overclock your cpu and you should be fine. If you can get around 3.2-3.4ghz you should be good to go. I'm only running a C2D E6400, but at 3.5ghz it's able to power this card at 1920x1200 perfectly fine.

You should be ok then. I was looking at the 400w one you have listed in your sig rig.

Okay thanks (: that was going to be my next question, if overclocking would increase my FPS drastically. If not, I'm just going to buy a new one since I've never tried overclocking before.. a bit scared ;P

Just to update:

I was able to get this card to: 800/1600/1850/1.067 at 77 degrees C @ 70% fan speed using OC Scanner. Fans were at 70% - temps were dropping when I raised fan speeds but I did not wait for the temp to settle. 0 artifacts through 25+ minutes of OC Scanner.

I could not get 815 nor 825 core to run with 0 artifacts.

Are my settings above safe to run 24/7? I play SC2 a few hours a day but that doesn't even come close to pushing this card.

Should I try and find more moderate clocks w/ lower voltages or does it not matter?

TIA.

If you''ve completed around 30mins of OC Scanner and want another level of stability testing, run it through OCCT GPU stress test with shader complexity at 8, full screen at your native monitor's resolution.

I've have 800core run 30mins in OC Scanner only to find out within the first few mins in OCCT that it would artifact. From my experience, OCCT will be a better indicator of stability when playing games as OC Scanner can pass 1hour fine and playing BFBC2 could still crash.
