I think I'm gonna lap my heatsink base as well and use some IC Diamond paste to see where that gets me with temps. Was your heatsink very much concave/convex at all?

Umm how do I check? My PSU is a good 630W one.
Which 630W PSU is it?

Rosewill Green Series from the Recommended PSU thread.

Now that I plan to overclock my CPU as well.. will it handle unlocked and overclocked GTX 465 AND overclocked CPU? I haven't even unlocked the card yet, disappointed at my low FPS T__T.. I was even going to wait until Saturday to switch my cards (because of school stuff) but I rushed to do it today haha.

I can't even get OCCT to run in full screen mode at my native res (1920x1200) at stock clocks... it works fine in windowed mode at a lower res.... Hmm...

Ack one of my fan blades rubs against the copper shroud at lower fanspeeds (between 40-70%). Very annoying. I know someone else here was experiencing this as well. I wonder how MSI will handle it

Quick update:

Stock GTX 465, not flashed yet, no overclock.

Vid is .937v, barely fits in my A05N, but I have a bluray driver that's longer than the normal DVD drive right where the card is, and my SATA connector is not a 90 degree one, so the SATA connector actually goes right under the tip of the card, real tight fit.

Idle temp is 60C, and playing SC2 on 1920x1200 Ultra settings got me to 72 in game, and that's with the side panel off! Left the fan on 49% constant though.

Seems really bad, but considering the case I have, it's not too horrible. There's a noticeable heat pocket above the video card, near the top of the case. I haven't swapped in the top w/ the cutout and 140mm fan yet, which should lower temps by quite a bit.

Doesn't matter, gonna put this baby in the Corsair 800D and unlock it this weekend, will post more details!

*Oh, copper heatsink transfers heat very well, definitely hot to touch when card's running. So I think if you have a case where you've got a side fan blowing on them, it'll lower the temps drastically.

Like I said earlier, you'll be fine. 630w is way more than enough. You probably won't even reach 450w.

Alright (: thanks so much. I tend to worry a lot.. heh.

Any reason why MSI Advantage isn't showing me my card's core voltage?
[EDIT] Neverminddd, I didn't enable it in the settings (;

i just jumped the gun. Can't wait for it to get here. In process of selling both my 4850 512mb. So im hoping for a huge improvement witha single card running @ 1920x1200. Should hold me good for the 2 year till my new computer built.

edit- Will the Q6600 be bottlenecking. I would like to avoid buying a new cpu since at the end of the year sandy bridge is supposely on a brand new socket.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant I'd update the OP with the request for anyone using that BIOS to post in this thread.

Honestly, it would probably be better to create a new thread just requesting a user to post the BIOS.
