MSI GTX465 Twin Frozr II Golden Edition Owners Club - Page 199

Hey all,

I'll have to get an official word on the BIOS from my VGA PM (product manager), but he's out of office (early weekend, maybe?). I'm pretty sure you can find it online because there are a lot of slick modders out there with the resources to get it done....

h220wnzj00: Because of the limited supply on the card, I will also need to ask the product manager about this and get back to you. If you can private message me your e-mail address I will assist you personally to make sure we resolve this matter.

XiDillon: Don't have an answer for that because we've seen some impressive results from hardcore users. Whatever the case, MSI Afterburner should simplify that process

Have a great weekend,

Rajiv

You know when NewEgg might get this back in stock, and how long the MIR will last? Or are you guys not responsible for that?

My question was rhetorical. but thanks for the response. So why NOT make it a 470? and again, who has 1337?

Two coppers are better than one! These cards side by side are drop dead

Hey can some one send me the stock MSI GTX 465 TFII GE bios?
I think something got messed up when I saved it. It shows as a GTX 460 when you boot to flash it?
PM me for my email.

Still have not been successful in flashing it Computer keeps freezing after the card is recognized and loads the VGA drivers for a 470 then asks for a reboot. I do that then at the starting windows screen it freezes. ??? IDK

The flashing process is straight forward but I cant get it to work.
I have been wanting to reload windows, maybe it will work after that.

Hmmmm... i'm getting some weird temperature numbers in MSI Afterburner. When I was running Vantage the recorded temp spiked to 194 degrees :O... but when I checked HWMonitor it only recorded a peak of 78 degrees. The 194 spike came from an automatic down clock during the loading phase of Vantage.

Actually now that I'm looking at the graph there was a recorded random spike idling at 45 to 65 and 197 from idle (51/101/135). Weird.

Should I be worried? I'm leaning towards MSI Afterburning giving the wrong numbers... hope I am right.

The part that shows as a GTX 460 is fine; mine was like that was well. If your card is freezing at the windows screen, perhaps the voltages in the bios you chose is too low or maybe you just need to uninstall drivers and use driversweeper in safemode.

What would be the difference between the MSI stock 470 BIOS and the MSI 470 Twin Frozr BIOS? Shouldn't they be the same?

Perhaps. There are gtx 470's which use different memory chips (hynix and samsung). If that's the case, there may be slight differences in the bioses to accomodate stable settings for chips with different ICs. Just like ram from different manufacturers may have different subtimings and voltages and all in their spd profiles.

I would suspect that more between different board partners but thats a good instance.
