I just brought the memory clock down to 1797 and it's working fine. It was unstable at 1848.

I finally got both cards installed and unlocked. I can't seem to get SLI working on my TA890FXE.

I'm using the 257.xx drivers and I'm BSODing when I enable SLI through the nVidia Control Panel. Anyone have any ideas?

Unrelated to this card, but noone else seems to be able to give me an answer. My system properties show 6gb of memory installed, but only 3.99gb usable. Why is this? Win7 64

Sounds like an issue with disappearing ram. It's either one of a few things: A bent cpu pin; an overclock that exceeds the capability of your cpu's imc; a dead ram slot; dead ram.

However seeing as you have it installed and the system is recognizing it I would say it's just the overclock. With the classifies changing the mch strap helped some. Most of the time though you have to drop the memory frequency multiplier to get the ram back. Also keep in mind some i7's don't like a lot of variance between uncore vtt and dram voltage.

Suggested fix? It says 6gb installed (3.99 usable).

Hi guys.

I got my card on Wednesday but have been so busy I didn't have time to install it.

I'm going to open the box now. Any guesses on my number? Closest to it gets a picture of a cookie!

The number is on the outside of the box.

So...some crappy news. My new motherboard seems to have sh%t its pants. It shutdown earlier while I was uninstalling nvidia drivers. I figured it may have just been the BIOS I had previously flashed the cards with but now it won't even post. I've tried my Asus 5850 in two different slots with the same result. Everything powers on but no post just an error code on the "Rapid Debug3" LCD. It shows "E9", which I can only assume stands for something like "Error 9" but I can't seem to find any information on it.

I guess my GTX 470 SLI-action is going to have to wait.....probably for quite some time.

I've got a question..

I can get my core to 800mhz without any problems but when I put my ram over 1700 I get visual gitches.. little red and green dots pop up every now and then in games.. What are the consequences of overclocking the core, but leaving the memory almost untouched..

I downloaded the Heaven Benchmark and ran 5 runs through it at max settings (1920x1080, 8xAA, extreme tessellation, 16xAF, and everything else either enabled or set to high). My max temps were 68C and the card is running at 720/1440/1748 (1038mV). There weren't any crashes and the whole time I was looking for artifacts. I don't think there were artifacts coming from the card, but at each run there were low-detailed shadows at far distances and light shimmered on certain objects at certain stages. Would those be from the benchmark itself or are they artifacts?

I finally played Crysis for around 4-5 hours with my overclock of 775/1550/1848 (I mean, I only overclocked the core) and for the first time ever in about a year of playing it, I got artifacts. So, I lowered the core to 765 and everything is better.

At 775 core, it was stable (no artifacts) for 61 minutes of EVGA OC Scanner (I manually stopped it because I had to go somewhere) at these settings:

So, now I no longer trust a 1-hour test. But I also don't know what kind of testing I'll be doing from now on. I think I'll just start with a 2-hour test and go from there. I mean, if it lasts for 2-hours and if I still get artifacts in Crysis after playing it for several hours, then I'll try to get it stable for 3 hours in EVGA OC Scanner.

So anyway, here is my new Vantage score with 775/1530/1848 using Grunion's "EVGA Identifying - 1.15v max." BIOS:

Here is the old score with the 775/1550/1848 overclock:
