Forget about exchanging the card, return for a full refund. You can real GTX 470's for around that price or less with rebates. And if you just wait a week or two, I bet prices will be better as well. There's bound to be deals coming up.

Did you try your old mesh door w/the side fans blowing in, just to see if it helps Danny? Also, how powerful is your bottom case fan? That's probably a pretty important fan in this scenario. You might want a pretty powerful one, and to cut away the filter on that thing ... it restricts airflow quite a bit...

Dunno how your HD's are situated, but you might try moving it/them all down to the lowest bays.

Alternatively you could get one of these like I have:

http://store.antec.com/Product/acces...5-30044-5.aspx

Fits up to three HD's, slides into three slots in the front, gives more airflow across the top/back of the cards, and most importantly lets you remove your current HD bay completely (if you <=3 drives and you move them to this new bay) from your Sniper, so that big front fan will have nothing between it and the graphics cards. That whole assembly comes out really easily.

If you can get the bottom of your case looking like the bottom of this dudes case you should be golden:

I've only owned this card for a couple of days but I can't see myself just give it away...I loved how cool and quiet this ran, so I'm not sure of getting just a reference 470. Maybe Newegg will get a few more 465 GE's in a couple of weeks.

major improvement, thank you, worthless newbie rep on it's way

that's the fifth bios version i've tried, it's at least a 10% plus improvement in frame rate, over anything else, plus the stability is far better... i'm running the latest 258.96 whql drivers, which is an older release than what you have.

MORE VOLTAGE PLEASE

this card i have isn't much of an overclocker, it took the full 1.21v to get 810/1620/2010 stable, but it actually runs cooler than all other bios versions did... 76 degrees max on the factory stock automatic fan settings, crysis warhead with full enthusiast settings across the board, 1600x1024, never saw it go under 35 fps.

for those of you still having a rough time, like i did, don't give up until you try this bios.

If you still get artifacts with the stock 465 bios then it sounds like you have a bad card and not a bios conflict problem. If I were you I would do an RMA with MSI. They will either give you a new GE card if they have some in stock or if they are sold out more then likely slap your GE cooler on a new board.

These GE's don't overclock very well. The only benefit you're getting is a good performing cooler. Personally, I'd return a card that's not performing like it should. I wouldn't pay $260 for something that's cool and quiet but doesn't do what it's made to do properly.

What are you using to test stability? Just gaming runs? See how stable things are under OCCT GPU Stress Test with shader complexity 8 and full screen native resolution.

Ran Vantage with the Twin Frozr modded Bios..first run I figured I would kick up the voltage to max and see what the temps look like.

1.21v - 800 Core - 1800 Memory

19029 GPU Score @ Performance Preset

Max Temp - 72C

Pretty frozen for 1.21v..Bios looks nice.

Gee, I forgot the gtx 465 was suppose to perform as a fully unlocked gtx 470. Your logic is impeccable.

Is it not reasonable to return a GTX 465 that artifacts at GTX 465 stock specs? It performing as a fully unlocked GTX 470 is another thing in itself and has no business being a factor in returning his card.
