Number 335 - Sorry for the disgusting cellphone picture.

Hopefully this number is low enough for an unlock and stable OC'ing?
Whoa, didn't expect MC to carry this as well. Gonna have to go check it out!

<call me... blaw>

meaning...?

We had some cards with underspec ram(mine) and/or gpus, and also some amazing looking copper heatsinks we hoped to charge a monster price for in custom 480 GTX's(purely conjecture), but they didn't really do any better than than our aluminum ones and you know how picky the $500 price-tag crowd is ... (that said based on mine, this copper is great)

so we took 2 lemons (sad chips n cooler that looks cooler than it is) and made lemonade!!!

drink up and enjoy usa fanboyz!

...all snarkiness aside, I'm happy with the purchase. I get significantly better than stock 470 gtx performance running under 70C in anything except OCCT.

What more can I ask of a 465 GTX? What more did I expect? Nothing, it's fine.

Would a regular 470 GTX with better performing ram and gpu spank me? No doubt. Are there any guarantees a 470GTX would overclock well--nope.

Anyway, I bought a 465 GTX and compared to its peers it smokes 'em.

Sorry I had to do that to you xxbassplayerxx!

h220wnzj00, I got the card for $279.99, but with tax it was about $305, which was still pretty expensive. I believe it was the last one in stock at the Silicon Valley Microcenter.

NCIX has these for $269 but the product description states that these ones do not unlock to 470GTX.

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=55222&...SI%2FMicroStar

May be these were the ones that were a no-go when the staff members at NCIX tried to unlock them for their clients.

Expect your max OC to go down, and your temps to go up.

Along with your scores jumping by 20-28% at the same clocks

I didn't know he started it. I mean, I thought I was the one who started it because within 1 or 2 hours after getting all excited that I ordered this card, Frosty created this thread along with the other one regarding the unlocking process for it (excellent idea with a lame response from OCN).

So was it really he who started this, or was it me? I'm confused now.

EDIT: I hate how UPS won't deliver before three days, though. I ordered mine Friday morning at 8:30. I even added rush processing because I was really excited. It left Memphis a few hours later and sat in Nashville until last night/early this morning. I can understand not doing it on weekends, but it sat there all of yesterday too...
Always remember that Ground has a lower priority than Next Day Air Early A.M., Next Day Air, Next Day Air Saver, and 2nd Day Air. All of those shipments are taken care of first and then they take care of the Ground shipments. This is also why some Ground deliveries can arrive very late in the day, or even in the middle of the evening approaching 9 pm.

Currently running Furmark at stock. It seems to have leveled pretty near 74C without changing any settings.

VID of 1.0120 (assuming it's the VDDC reading in GPU-Z).

EDIT: Now running Furmark at 750, all stock settings.
Nice!

Only you would be lucky enough to get #44. hehe

Here:

http://www.ocbase.com/download/OCCTPT3.1.0.zip

But for the future, you can save yourself the time by Googling it like this:

Of course, it's not case-sensitive, so you don't have to use caps for "OCCT". But I did just because I am a perfectionist (so, I tried to loosen up on the third search there)

But anyway, by Googling things like this, you won't have to wait several hours or more for an answer - especially in a busy thread like this one.

I'm Alex, Associate Marketing Manager in charge of VGA here at MSI. I ran across this thread about a week ago doing some research for product information, and was utterly shocked to see the enthusiasm for this Golden Edition GTX465 card.

We always want to have something innovative and unique for the end-user, and it's great to see such wonderful feedback on forums (and without manufacturer interaction). Heck, there's enough great quotes in here for MSI to last a lifetime!

All jokes aside, we're glad to see the support of 465GTX GE owners. If you have questions, please feel free to send me information... I can't seem to find the PM feature on here (and I'm definitely no forum noob).

On a sidenote: this thread gave me a great idea on a future idea I wish to implement for MSI card owners. I'll post a separate thread when we're ready with some more details.

Cheers!
Alex Chang
Associate Marketing Manger, MSI Computer Corporation.

P.S. Can one of the forum admin email me at my registered email address? I have questions for ya.
Welcome, Alex!

Please update this thread if you create that thread you're talking about! I am looking forward to whatever it is!

I cannot just give up on this card...I will not!
With the way these MSI reps seem to be, I wouldn't be surprised if you'd have no problem with it!

Congratulations on a good find! In fact, thanks to you finding this, I searched Micro Center's website for the inventory of the local Micro Center here in Minnesota, and here's what I found!!

http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0342737

It's $279.99 before tax, and roughly $299-$300 after. But I admit that I am very tempted to check this out to see which card number it is - especially because they only have 1 left!

It may depend on the local Micro Center. I recommend visiting their website, selecting the location of your local store, and then browsing the Graphics Cards to the MSI category. Or, take a chance and search on "N465GTX" once you've selected your store.
