I have a problem with auto-fan, when this is enabled my system crashes in kombustor and furmark in the upper 70s range. Anyone else having this problem? The BIOS is whatever BIOS Ncix preloaded into the card when they unlocked it.

Not the right place to post this, this thread is for GTX465 Twin Frozr II GE owners, but as for your 470 they could give you a refund if you want one. Why would you want one though, do you not want your 470 anymore?

Well I tried my first OC on my card today. So far I hit 700 core with 1400 shader and 1700 memory at 1.000v. After 1 hour of OCCT I had 0 errors and the max temp was 82 at 80% fan speed. I might try to go a bit further, but for today I think I will keep it here and actually play some games. Here is my
3DMark score as of right now:

Definitely go for it.

Well after a week of incredible stress I can pretty much say I give up...on this system. I put in my 5770 and it showed the same artifacts like the 465 did. I then reinstalled Windows and I installed the 465 again. It still showed the artifacts. Then like last time, I installed the 5770 and the same artifacts were there! How is it that both cards act up the same way? Everything was completely fine before I installed the 465 GE for the first time. Now both it and the 5770 seem corrupt. I'm not running any overclocks and temps are fine on both cards. I tried moving them to the next slot (x8) but nothing changed. I'm running my CPU and RAM at default settings and I've used the latest drivers for each card. This has to be some hardware issue right? I reinstalled all my games a couple of times and completely updated them (no mods either).

it sounds like you've eliminated the slot, and the video card.

ideally, you would start swapping parts for testing purposes, or maybe see if the motherboard will let you run the pc with one stick of ram... if it fails on one stick, swap sticks and try it again.

have you tried running prime95? it's a good ram test... probably the same for the cpu test in occt.
