Was this directed at me? I'll just answer as if it was, if I'm mistaken then just disregard. By "successfully" flashed, I mean that backing up the BIOS, erasing it, and then flashing the 470 BIOS to it went flawlessly in NVflash. Rebooted and as soon as W7 loading screen came on, there would be an entire screen worth of white artifacts that responded to the cursor when it was near by jittering away. The only way I know it was flashed to a 470 was because GPU-Z showed it as a GTX 470. I ran Driver Sweeper in safe mode a couple of times and tried to install drivers, but they never stuck. I reflashed it back to my backup of the 465GE.rom and it works just fine as a 465. Artifacts were never rainbow though, just white jagged lines everywhere.

Well, 1698 is unlocked, used a EVGA 470 bios instead of the grunion 470 modded since it gives me bsod's on this card, it seems that the high vid of this chip will not let me use that bios.

VID's
1692: 1.037v
1698: 1.087v

i think that they will not overclock that well with those high voltages.

But at least i have 2 470 GE

Ouch bro, hard luck. Could try an RMA in the future and they would put a diff 470 PCB on there and put your cooler on it and send it back, hopefully get one without a VID higher than my overclocked overvoltaged card >,<

I used the stock 470 twin frozr ii bios so that I'd have the "standard" bios for this card as a 470. I have my card at 825/1650/2000 at 1.087 and it's stable as can be. I'd recommend the same bios to see what your card likes best.

Anyone experiencing any whining of the coil or the VRM while the card is under load?

I thought they switched to solid caps and digital VRM's on these cards? Also, the card is even advertised to have no annoying squealing or whining too.

I can hear a quite audible whine coming from my GPU while it's under load and in some cases, I can even hear it through my speaker system/headphones. The frequency of the high-pitched squeal varies between what kind of overclocks I set too.

Weird.

Canadian brick and mortar stores are pretty much cleaned out.

A newly opened NCIX store had them as door crashers for $219.99 a pop (I got mine for $309.99 ).

I don't know how many MSI made or how many are left.

Good luck hunting one down though!

I don't know how to prove this, but I've seen a few different people say that they made 2500.
