Kay, so I just ordered two of these GE cards.

I'm a sucker for pretty golden copper limited edition cards that unlock for extra free performance.

I really hope you guys are right about them all unlocking else I'm going to be BUMMED ... actually, not really, I'll just send 'em back.

I know this is shallow, but the way those cards look from the side (facing the window) is just so friggin sweet looking, what with the limited edition number on it ... I decided I should have them.

As long as they unlock, my 480's will go up for sale. I hardly ever even fire up the second one anyways ... Two 480's are just hot, noisy friggin overkill, and they suck up too much juice. My 850W PSU unit doesn't really like them either I don't think. And I REALLY like my 850W unit, so ... I'm sensitive to her needs.

So ... I'm thinking we'll both be happier w/a couple of cool/quiet 465-flashed-to-470 cards.

Me too. It almost feels like it was meant to happen. I mean, what better card than one that looks this beautiful? And then there's the near-guarantee that I can turn it into a 470? Whoa! Not only that, but it's going to be like I bought two cards because I'm going to play with it as the 465 for a while before flashing it to a 470! I want to increase my appreciation for it!

And the best part is that with all of these 470s that have free shipping, I would just be sending it back using the United States Postal Service so that I only have to pay like 4-5 bucks for shipping it back!

I think its beautiful appearance will probably cause me to clean the interior of my rig more often.

But wouldn't flashing it to a 470 make it just as hot as a normal 470? I honestly don't know, but that's what I've been assuming up until you brought this up. But still: with that badass all-copper heatsink and two fans? I can't wait!

And when unlocked to a 470, it'll run like crossfired 5770's. THAT is what convinced me to buy this card and sell my original 5770 (instead of buying a second 5770).

Now I gotta get to 35 rep so I can sell my Hawk... LOL

Well, sure, unlocked it'll put out the same heat as a 470. But the 480, which is what I have ... these are in a league of hotness/loudness all their own.
