MSI GTX465 Twin Frozr II Golden Edition Owners Club - Page 303

You resolved your issue but im getting headache with mi bsod's, can't even get in W7, and XP has now randoms reboots, and i just put the card to flash it, no games or benchmarks, now i dont know if its the W7 partition corrupted or its a hardware error, maybe my card overworked the PSU?

I got my card today (#737) and returned it back.
I successfully unlocked it, but the video ram was unstable at 1674mhz (artifacts in furmark), so I had to set it to 1600. But the reason I returned it was that one of the fans made a horrible screeching noise when at 60% and higher. Will probably buy a GTX460 tomorrow.

One thing that is weird about my card is that i get a sort of screeching noise at about 55-65% below and above that its not audible. It weird cause it makes 55% fan speed louder then 70%.

I think I'm going to be returning my cards as well. I've put about 450 bucks extra into trying to get an SLI configuration to not cook that top card, and the last expenditure was a waste (new motherboard didn't want to work at all). Easier to go back to my single card situation, too bad because I really want to love these cards. If I was running a single one I think it would be worth it, but then I wouldn't have swapped out from my 5870 for a single card.

Yup... that fan noise was the half the reason I sent my first card back to newegg.

Even if these really weren't supposed to be unlocked to 470's, the fact that there's a hardware issue with the fans is highly disappointing.
