Dang, I'll have to reflash. So this is the most popular rom for this card right now?

Yes. Spec posted that BIOS but modded to allow up to 1.21V if you want.

More voltage doesn't mean more stability though. I can bench at 910/1050 at 1.2V but if I give it 1.21V it crashes, even at the same clocks.

I would visit Newegg everyday. This is what I did and I got lucky last week they posted that it was available in stock so I grabbed it right away.

Even luckier coz I was able to unlock it.
Man that really sucks..I had visited newegg during the past couple weeks and saw it was out of stock so signed up for a stock alert. *** man I never got the email that they were back in stock

I would have done the same as you, visit everyday but I solely relied on that email. Wow that really sucks I wanted that card to go with my TRUE Copper

Anyone grab an extra that they're willing to let go of?

I'm sure I can still come across some, but now theres the question of whether it is a guaranteed unlocker. NCIX listed some as guaranteed NON unlockers...so if we can figure out a pattern with edition #s and locked versions (like so far it seems the 200 #s are locked) maybe it'll avoid having to buy and return multiple cards.

And what about the regular non copper, but twin frozr ii edition (silver)? Any of these known to have 10 mem chips?

Currently running 800/1600/1900 @ 1.050v - seems behaving but can't tell if it's stable. Got a couple of bsod (1033) setting it to the numbers above so I decided to set it a little bit lower.

I see the gpu usage % fluctuates from 67~99 when running gpu3 folding though - not a good sign of stability, but will still keep running it at these settings until it crashes (hopefully not).

*fingers crossed*

<noob observations, so take them for what they are worth(less) -- frustrated initially by lack of FACTS here, so have some...>

OVERCLOCKING STABILITY FOR my 465 GE (they are all unique, this works for me)

If your card is anything like mine, try bringing the ram speed down first. Mine without a memory capacitance mod couldn't even approach stock speeds much less 1900 passing the following tests. (also, I've seen a direct correlation between ram and max gpu speed, at least to the effect that bumping mem voltage enabled me to run 'slightly' higher mem speed, which somehow in-turn enabled slightly higher STABLE gpu speed--50Mhz+)

1.05V is conservative, assuming you have nice temps which my twin frozer delivers consistently, kick it up to stock max and see where you stand in terms of speed and temps--that's 1.087 (though mine reports 1.088)

Ram speed doesn't seem to make nearly as much difference in performance benchmarks and --MORE IMPORTANTLY-- game-play(even loading textures and what-not) as speedy gpu.

Assuming your temps are good already... consider:
- Drop ram to 1700
- bump up gpu starting at 750
...and test, looking for artifacts:
1) OCCT shader level 1 - pass with no errors for 3 minutes ( if not, forget it, you are pissing in the wind--not a good test of stability--more a sanity check) If you can't hit this, drop down mem 50Mhz and retest... drop again if necessary as it seems few can't hit 750 gpu.
2) fire up Nvidea Supersponic Sled and play with it for a few minutes looking for artifacts (hit esc to skip the lame film part)
3) fire up Heaven 2.1 benchmark at max res, max tess, max everything and look out for artifacts, running all the way through it--Just select benchmark to ensure you run all the way through and WATCH it--look for weird reflections/lens affects/missing texture on particular objects--sign of bad ram-drop the ram speed, or sparkles or crazy **** everywhere--gpu losing it, so drop gpu.
4) Run vantage at your max rez, and WATCH it looking for artifacts (if water looks wierd at start, quit and drop down settings)
5) All good? Then go back and bump up gpu by 10-20Mhz; Otherwise, lower gpu 10Mhz.
6) When you hit the gpu Mhz limit, start bumping up your memory 10-20 Mhz, wash and repeat steps 1-4 until your 465 GTX performs like a middle-o-road overclocked 470 GTX (like mine)--only MUCH cooler and quieter. OR, if you're even a little bit lucky, much better! Mine falls into the 'mehh... ok' slot compared with true 470 gtx's, that's like 40-50%. I'm cool with that--we're talking max stable overclock mind you, not stock--not even close to stock performance, WAY better!

The above is enough for me to 'think' I'm probably ok, but after that I really need to play a rough game for a while to ensure all is good. For whatever reasons, Mirror's Edge seems to crap out on my bad overclocks like nothing else.

ALSO, FAN TICKING...

when I first bought my card it was nice and quiet even at high speeds, but after a week started ticking above 50%... then after a day or two started occasionally ticking all the time regardless of fan speed. By chance I left the side of my case open while installing a new sound card and noticed the fan wasn't ticking at all. Seems either wind turbulence or lack of in-flow to the twin-turbo causes the fans to pull themselves out to the extent that they hit their housing. This occurred consistently over several days. Anyway, I left the side panel off and will leave it off until I receive a high-flow fan to pump air into the lower portion of my case.

Just saying... the bearings are fine, it clearly appears--for me at least--inadequate air flow is causing the fans to make noise.

Best wishes with your new card!

Pencil mod... +0.04V enabled stock 470 mem speed which my card couldn't hit without.

I'm no NCspecV81.

See post http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/7097...thread-54.html

scroll down to post from Clay333, but PLEASE have a good voltmeter and be careful. You could kill your card.
