scroll down to post from Clay333, but PLEASE have a good voltmeter and be careful. You could kill your card.
Sitting right next to a DMM

You just earned yourself a rep!

EDIT: 1.633V now

1.6V is stock for these (and most) memory chips. I don't think the extra .33 will do any harm.

My only issue is that my max overclock is being held back by temperatures. I need to just fabricate my own bracket since Swiftech isn't exactly being helpful.

The only time it's necessary to use that is if you have more than 1 card and need to know which one is which.

If one unlocks and one doesnt, then I'll just ship the unlocked one back and wait for a deal on a GTX470 unless I can get a killer deal on a gtx465.

I'll chime back in when they arrive.
But they're both already unlocked, so there is no need to wonder if they will unlock. I mean, they are already GTX 470s. So just install them and enjoy! Or, install them, use NVFLASH to save the GTX 470 BIOS that they come with, and then try other BIOS versions just for fun!

He said he's very busy. So, I think we should expect something within the next month or two. I'm not saying that it'll take 1-2 months, but I'm just saying that it sounds like we should allow for at least that much time since he's so busy.

Card # 1882 here

Can someone post your current stable settings here please?

I appreciate it guys!!!!

Try either more voltage, or a lower core and memory clock. Or, try both: higher voltage along with a lower core and memory clock. I mean, 850/2000 is already pretty high for these cards. You see, these cards were supposed to be GTX 470s, but they weren't good enough and so they were given a GTX 465 BIOS so that they would be stable and so that they didn't have to trash them.

I hate online bank statements. Non are ever "true."

So, so far the only cards that can't be unlocked are the 200's? Is the boxed plastic wrapped? I'd hate to cut it open, find out it wont unlock, then try to RMA and they say no because I opened it. I know I could say it's screwed up, but I don't like doing that.
Fortunately, the box is not shrink-wrapped. However, the card itself is in an anti-static bag that is sealed with a piece of tape. So when opening it, be extra careful to avoid altering the appearance of that piece of tape!

Check out this unboxing video made by Linus (who works for NCIX):

Also, check out my unboxing thread:

I would have done the same as you, visit everyday but I solely relied on that email. Wow that really sucks I wanted that card to go with my TRUE Copper

Anyone grab an extra that they're willing to let go of?

I'm sure I can still come across some, but now theres the question of whether it is a guaranteed unlocker. NCIX listed some as guaranteed NON unlockers...so if we can figure out a pattern with edition #s and locked versions (like so far it seems the 200 #s are locked) maybe it'll avoid having to buy and return multiple cards.

And what about the regular non copper, but twin frozr ii edition (silver)? Any of these known to have 10 mem chips?
That one has an all-copper heatsink too, but it's nickel-plated. Anyway, none of them unlock because not only do they not have an unlockable GPU chip, but they also don't have the 10 memory chips.

Just ordered one off newegg on Sunday, got lucky looks like they only had one in-stock; they deactivated the product after I bought it. I think they had a hard time finding it in the warehouse too, cause it did not ship until Tuesday. newegg usually ships next day when I order on Sun. lol

Getting my GE on Friday can't wait!!!

Man that's nice for you guys that staked em out on newegg, good job

How much did you guys pay for them?

I wonder if anyone knows where the #0200 cards were purchased?

@TwoCables

Thanks for sharing the info. I was wondering what the deal was with those, but didn't have the cash to buy and experiment

Don't waist anytime and don't get too attached...

1) have a secondary card nearby
2) SAVE the original BIOS
3) push it hard

My card was someone else's return. That's fine, not good enough for them, but fine by me. Not all cards will be fine by you though.

Point is, Newegg sells returned products as new. I just built an entirely new system, and the only part that was clearly used was my 465 GTX GE.... I've bought other things in the past and not noticed anything 'used-looking', but for this gpu there was no doubt.

This isn't to suck the wind from your sails bud... just to help you be an informed consumer.

- Save the bios
- Replace the bios
- test the card
- if you kill the card, another card may be your only hope of re-flashing it back to manufactures specs
... if it doesn't perform well, send it back. Given what I've seen, I'd definitely say choose a twin frozer ii 470 as a replacement if it doesn't work out for you.

Yeah, having a 465 unlock to a 470 is great, but what makes these things sweet is how amazingly cool they run, WHILE unlocked to decently performing 470 GTX's (realistic min<less that I get> 775 gpu / 1650 ram -- still nice and near stock 480 gtx performance--less than that, prolly wanna send it back).

Can't hit those numbers? Flash back and rma -- just say it gave you a seizure and mention that you have a disability. Honestly, if it couldn't run at those speeds it'd make me sick too... err kk, time to go to bed.

peace

Cool thanx for the info. I was wondering if that might be the case I saw these sell out long ago and that was the first I had seen since. Guess I'll find out on Friday. It'll be fun anyways. I will post with results or if I get stuck.

@spoolindsm127 it was 279

@oram this might be a dumb question but does the backup card have to be nvidia as well

This Thread is great thanx to those of you who contribute.

The purpose for having a backup card is just in case the flashing bricks the card. This way you don't have to perform a blind flash in order to flash it back to a 465. So, it can be pretty much any functioning card.
