If that doesn't change anything, then I guess it's not something to worry about since the framerate is already so high.

Thanks everybody for your replies regarding newegg and their stock of this card. What you guys said is 100% right, since it is a limited edition card, everytime it sold out newegg kept deactivating it. Sometime then my email alert went out the window and I didn't even realize. I feel so stupid now that I actually had a chance but was too lazy to check the site..damn!

Good thing is last night i was searching for this card and it shows up on Microcenter.com!! While waiting for the morning I thought I'd mention Microcenter has them. But just to be safe I was being selfish by not mentioning it until I picked mine up today, but guess what? They are all gone! On microcenter's website, you can select "Web Store" and it will show you their entire inventory for items from every store and state. I remember clearly that NY had 1 left, Chicago had 1 left, two cities in Ohio had two left, and maybe one more in another state...I wake up this morning and they are all literally sold out Good thing I put one on reserve *phew* But my plan was to originally order it online to save $15. Now since I'm picking it up in the store I have to pay $20 tax on it But I should be grateful I found one right? And when I go to pick it up I will check the serial # for sure. If it's in the 200 range I might not even buy it

I spoke to Linus personally at the grand opening in Markham and he said that he only used 1 bios to attempt to unlock the "guaranteed locked" 465 GE's. Which leads me to believe these cards just required a little more time and effort with bios flashing, rather then physical differences with these cards. It seems NCIX is sold out of all its golden editions at this point, but I thought it was noteworthy in the discussion of whether all the run of these cards are unlockable.

Does anyone know for sure if they are making Quadros out of the GF100's yet and more specifically the 470's. If so is the hardware the same. I wonder if you could flash these cards with an equivalent Quadros bios and use the professional drivers. That would be awesome and really speed up my Maya productions not to mention photoshop and the other apps that would benefit.

Also I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times over but what is the stablest bios to use with this card. would it be the msi 470 frozr's, evgas or a custom one. I have tried to comb through most of this thread but 310+ pages is a lot to climb through so as of today which is the best?

Thank you sir I definitely will post results as soon as I pick it up.

I don't know what the hell was wrong with my PC, but yea now that I check on my laptop again the 465 GE is in stock at microcenter! Just hope that the ones they have unlock. Wondering if it's worth it to order online and save $15 or get one at the store.. Maybe since they aren't sealed I can check it in person

Believe me, for the price difference nvidia has made sure this isnt possible. The chips may be the same but the board hardware is different.

Well I know that you can soft-mod a Geforce into a Quadro but this whole flashing the bios on a video card is new to me. so if it is possible to actually flash the card with a Quadros bios even with the hit in memory capacity it might in theory alleviate some of the downfalls of a soft-mod emulation.

just a thought

also the biggest difference between the two is usually the drivers and those drivers make a hell of a difference when your working with 3d. Gameplay you wont see a damn thing though. the Quadros at my school were very nice!

your probably right though I am very skeptical that it would even be possible.

[update] it looks like they do have some quadros with similar specs but they have 2-6g's ram
cuda cores on the same page though.
