My core clock is at 700 while my memory is at 1848. It is unlocked to a GTX 470. What should I do? I've pretty much ruled everything out to be the graphics card. I can't even play any games right now! ARGGG

Have you tried upping the voltage to accommodate for those clocks?

Missed out, but still wondering if anyone is or plans to sell their MSI GTX 465 GE. Would like to pick one up to replace the GPU I just sold off recently.

Slightly prying the outer metal plate around fan openings while squeezing side mount-point portions by hand for a few minutes completely resolved the problem. I couldn't see that the metal reformed at all, but apparently it only needed a fraction of a millimeter. Hopefully the metal will retain the change, and my card will remain blissfully quiet. Been tick-free for 2 days now, prior to this it couldn't go for more than a minute without a bout of ticks.

Formerly blamed this on inadequate air flow, as ticking stopped when the side panel was off, but after adding an additional (very noisy high flow fan) didn't help.... decided to man handle the thing.
Has anyone else had to resort to similar methods?

I just received #403 in the post from another user here. But there is a problem similar to the one described above. When I raise the fan speed higher that 70% I hear an abnormal clicking noise as if the fan is comming into contact with the heatsink.

Sounds like you're using the 480 bios. Re-flash to the 470tfr bios and overclock from there.

If memory is the issue, raising the core voltage won't help. The memory voltage is low on these cards. If you have a multimeter you could do the pencil mod. The memory default on these is 1.52V but the chips are rated for 1.6V. So you could technically raise it up to 1.6V without any worries at all. I wouldn't try it without a multimeter though.

I would sell mine for the same price I paid for it. Just PM me for details - I live in jersey so we can always meet - that would be easier.

Looky Looky.

This is my Amazon card. I have the resistors and I can see 3 ram chips on both sides of the gpu while using a flashlight. From the pics I've seen if its missing two chips, then they would be gone on the left side of gpu (the middle and bottom).

I just installed the latest vid drivers and phsyx drivers. Going to run some benchmarks with my SLi GTX 280's. Then I'll run them again with it being a 465. I'm not going to attempt to flash until I get my card from NCIX. I got an email last night that it shipped.

Another thing. Since the fans can be unscrewed from the heatsink, I may rig up some case fans that run off the 12v rail. That should bring in some air flow.
