I just received #403 in the post from another user here. But there is a problem similar to the one described above. When I raise the fan speed higher that 70% I hear an abnormal clicking noise as if the fan is comming into contact with the heatsink.
I sent you a PM about this in case you missed it, we'll get it worked out

Weird......

fan speed:

0-70% = no noise
70-80% = fan clicking
80% - 100% no noise

Seems my fans don't like the 70's. Maybe there are slightly larger at that percentage, ie the centrifugal forces alter the size (somehow) just a guess

I think someone else might have mentioned this a few pages back

I could believe that the blades flex under load.

It's gonna be awhile tell I get all my benchmarks. I just setup my first raid 0, so I'm having to re-install everything. Gonna do all SLi with stock and OC speeds. I might throw in a couple single 280 benchmarks. We pretty much all know what those are though.

Can ya'll throw me some games that have benchmark tools? I know i'm gonna do Vantage, Crysis, Crysis: warhead, and FarCry2. I can't remember if Metro 2033 has a benchmark. I know I can just watch my fps and just see what the constant is.

Similar situation here.

Mine are whisper quiet until 60, then 60-70 is clicking, then 70+ is fine.

I just set a fan profile that goes straight from 50% fan to 75% fan when the temp gets to 60C, that works pretty well.

I guess I never saw this because my fan sits at 60% and jumps to 75% on my benchmark profile. Wonder if this happens for all the units they shipped?

Its weird as far as i know every GE 465GTX can unlock successfully...have you tried bumping up the voltage?? or lowering some of the frecuencies, that issue is like having a bad OC , double check stability by running apps like furmark, gpu tool , etc. Hope it works

My fans make a weird sound around 58-61% speed. Not a click... more like a rubbing sound. It goes away at any other speed. Doesn't really bother me, as I run at 70%. Still...
In progress.

Really interesting..I never saw anything about this and I never heard it on my own card. At least it's uniform across the cards, it seems and it doesn't affect the performance.
