ya but have you tried to boot with just one 280 maybe the system still thinks its in SLI. did you disable sli before you poped in the new card? it could be screwed but I always like to rule things out.

Phaedra, contact Newegg and ask what your best options are. When I requested an RMA, I stated that the card had given me a lot of grief and I just wanted a refund. A representative contacted me and told me they would be waiving the shipping fee, which was quite a lot considering I live in Newfoundland.

It's worth a shot, I know how stressful this card has made your life. You probably need anger management by now. Who knows, maybe Newegg will foot that bill too!

I have a 280 in slot 1 (16x) and I put the 465 in slot 2 (16x). I'm able to get into windows this way. Win7 installed the drivers for the 465, rebooted and I'm back in windows. I put physx on the 465 and I'm gonna fire up Cryostasis to see if there is any brain activity on the 465.

I guess the 465 was doing physx. I told nvidia control panel to put it on the 465 and enabled the physx indicator. It showed gpu on the screen and the temp raised some on the 465.

It boots fine as a secondary card, but when it's the main card, I still get post code 4E. Like I said. Win7 recognized it as a 465 and installed the driver for it. The card and heatsink are brand new clean, but there are the dents on the heatsink. I don't think the bios was missed with. I guess someone bought it, dropped it right when they pulled it out and RMA'd it right then.

I had to put plastic washers with the gpu screws to snug up the heatsink.

Sorry for all the posts. Looks like I may be in the chitter. I ordered this card through Amazon and the seller is ANTOline. Just reading their return policy and googling them looks like they are gonna try to bend me over and stick it up my.........

So. It's a holiday today and who knows when they'll reply to my email.

1. Do I go ahead and register the card? What if they do take it back?

2. Don't register the card and wait on their reply.

C. Wait for my second card to come in (hopefully wed) and try to re-flash this card.

4E. Cry like a little girl.

Personally, I would wait before registering just to see how the seller handles the situation.

ya every time I have called newegg and actually talked to someone they have issued free shipping on my return. otherwise if you just do an RMA online you will be hit with shipping. I always RMA by phone.

@rangerscott register it as a last resort. some places wont accept returns if it has been registered, 2+C at the same time 4E is optional my dizzle
