Yes, and different disc drives. I have a Samsung Blu-Ray drive and a Lite-On DVD-RW drive. I've tried watching with both PowerDVD and Window Media Player as well. Same experience in both. It's also happened while streaming via Netflix which is leading me to believe it to be a card thing.

I may try to replace my mini-HDMI to HDMI cable as well. It was a cheapo $5 cable I got from amazon.com.

have you tried using a DVI cable. I had a weird experience with an older card running through an HDMI cable: screen flickers and lines. So I poped in DVI and worked fine, later I went back to HDMI and that was fine as well. It was just weird. So if you haven't yet, try DVI both of them. It could just be the mini-HDMI port. you could also try the DVI-HDMI hook-ups that came with the card.

[EDIT] what video card drivers are you using?

258.92? drivers. Trying to recall from memory as I'm at work.

I don't have a DVI cable. I have my card running straight to my receiver (Onkyo ht-s7200 system) and it doesn't support DVI. Neither does my LCD TV.

Hm, possible hdmi handshake issues? Does this happen only during movies?

do you have a regular HDMI cable [not mini] you can use the adapter that came with your card to run a fat HDMI through your DVI ports to rule out the mini. Also try hooking straight to your TV as well if you haven't, to rule out your receiver.

I do, and I still have that adapter. I should probably try to give that a shot. I was trying to avoid using it as it rubs the edge of my case because of how wide the adapter is.

My Hawk 5770 had the full-sized HDMI port in the middle of the card, so there was no fitting issue.

I started having this problem with my Xbox 360 and HD dvd player. Never did it and just one day it would cut the screen on/off. Using the hdmi cable that came with it. Games play just fine. Must be some kind of data hesitation.

My hd dvd player did the same thing over hdmi. It had to do with handshaking issues. Changing to component fixes that issue.
