I was thinking that I'd like to start stock and work up, but I see something about voltages in the BIOS and it confused me. Also, I don't see any MSI BIOS listed, but it would make sense to me to keep it the same brand.

I'd like a MSI 470 stock BIOS if it's out there (and has no overwhelming drawbacks).

I just spoke to an MSI tech rep on the phone to try and get some info out of him regarding our cards. First I asked if flashing the Bios would void our warranty. He said that it wouldn't and if you brick your card you can actually send it to MSI and they will flash it back to a 465 for you. Which we can do on our own but if that interests you it can be done. So this confirms what rangerscott said about his note from NCIX. I asked about the similarities between the GE cards and the regular 470. He said that they had the same PCB layout. I then asked about the similarities between the GE's and the regular twin fozr II 465, he confirmed that they have a different PCB layout. So I asked if they would support a specific 470 bios for the 465 GE he said no they most likely would not. Also dig this, while talking about flashing to a 470 he said that they have a whole thing dedicated to this on Overclock.net. So the MSI tech rep actually advised me to come to this page lol. last question I asked why we haven't seen any numbers over 2000 yet and if he knew if certain ones were dedicated to specific regions. He said he'd be back and after a minute or so he said that they did not have any info on this.

I assumed so, but I'm looking at 350 pages, so it's kinda like a stab in the dark. Thanks for the info.

Do a thread search for "twin frozr ii bios" and it'll probably pop up.
