There have been a few that didn't unlock. Someone has a list, somewhere.

But not all of the Golden Edition 465s that they produced are GTX 470s that were binned as/flashed to GTX 465s.

Thanks fellas Guessing I might have to flip a coin for this purchase

Well, i built my computer today.. it's no longer 'coming soon'.

Got my 465 GE, and about to take the flashing plunge. If i'm not back soon, you will all know it didnt go well.

Wish me luck!

If you're going to do it, do it now. I just checked and Newegg only has 1 left in stock...

Ugh.. having issues with my bootable USB..

when it boots all i get is a 'j' on the screen and it just sits there. Let me try to remake this thing.

Edit 6:20pm: i reformated it, and now i'm getting disk read errors. Guess i'll try a different USB drive??

You say that like it's a bad thing? Be happy that you have good temps.

That would be my suggestion.

You followed the steps exactly to create the bootable drive, right?

1.087v is the max safe voltage quoted from Nvidias specification page on the GTX 465 and 470 GPUs. With that said, if you can keep your temps in check, then you should be fine. Nvidia states that the max safe temp is 105 C, but personally, I like to keep my cards below 80 C.

You can push the voltage but don't go overboard. A lot of users seem to use ~1.1v to get their desired overclocks, which is just a fraction past Nvidia max safe voltage.

What clocks can your card achieve with 1.087v?
