MSI GTX465 Twin Frozr II Golden Edition Owners Club - Page 397

Oh, it makes a difference if you bump the memory, for sure. It's just a much smaller scaling ratio vs. what you get with core bumps, so if you have to sacrifice one or the other, it's better to go for a higher core.

Mine don't even like to have the memory at 900 ... remember BassPlayer is on H2O, which helps a lot because the memory controller (which is the issue more than the chips, which are rated for 1GHz) is on the GPU itself, so it's also being H2O cooled.

I went from 1700 to 1800 and noticed maybe 2 fps more. Its not worth it to me to have it running as high as possible just to achieve that.

I with you on this. I'm much inclined to stability rather than performance but If I can have both, hell, why not!

Just got off the phone with newegg and I'm sending back card # 1774. Works fine at stock clocks and I had it stable @ 825c/1750m. It just takes more voltage than the other three. I only used a stock 470 bios so voltage was not allowed over 1.087. I'll let someone else try a modded bios.

So if newegg re-sales it then it's a working card. I don't want people thinking I'm sending back a busted card.

Are you sending it back for replacement or refund? I was checking their site all day and it's currently out of stock.

Just run komberbuster and keep adding speed. When you start see a good amount of artifacts, bump the volt up by .010v.

You really dont need your ran speed that high. A higher core clock will net you better performance than a high mem speed.

I've followed what you said and here it is; Currently running Kombustor for 20 mins now at 800/1600/1800 @ 1.025v , 8x MSAA and rock solid - no artifacts.

I'll continue running this for 10 more mins. and will bump it to 850 afterwards.

800/1600/1800 @ 1.025v , 8x MSAA
Attachment 173528

850/1700/1800 @ 1.025v , 8x MSAA
Attachment 173529

I'm not believing what I'm seeing here compare to my previous GE card.

Sorry to hear it did not get up to specs for you. But just as I recently did, Someone can get a really good deal on an Open Box at Newegg soon since you are sending this one back.

I know thats what I did (bought open box) and it works like a champ. Basically a GTX 470 for $200...I'm happy

I hope that everything works out for you RS!

That's what I did to my #1882, also returned it but rather settled for a replacement. Got the #2165 and so happy with it. I'm glad I returned the first card for it's been giving me problems.
