Has anyone else experienced one of the fans on this card making a rattling noise (bad bearings?)

I love this card and it seems to OC and is stable, but the rattling noise on one of the fans is irritating to say the least.

I already have my new MSi R5830 TF II at MSi RMA Dept right now as it would not play BFBC2 and failed on three different 3D tests and sometimes made a high pitched whine noise from the card itself. (It would be awesome if they just sent me a 5850 or something as a replacement since the card was only a week old).

I do not want to RMA this one as we all know it is actually running as a GTX 470 and I do not want to get a regular 465 as a replacement. (Not only that but I can not play my games if both of my cards are at MSi California under RMA's I live in Tampa Bay Florida)

I did contact them and they said that they no longer send out the replacement fans so I would have to RMA it.

I explained to (John) in Tech support the GE version of this card is actually running as a 470 and I do not want to lose that capability if they send me another card as a replacement as not all of them will do that but this one does.

He said they would have to replace it with a "Like Kind Golden Edition if available or an Upgrade" but the only way to fix this noisy fan is to RMA it back to MSi.

I am having a streak of bad luck here this month with 2 Cards in a row. The MSi R5830 Twin Frozr II & now this GTX 465 Twin Frozr II GE.

Maybe I should stick with my PS3....NOT!

Mine does at around 58-63% fan speed. I just don't use those speeds.

Cheap fans are cheap fans. Escpecially when they're spinning at high rpms. I'd just deal with it or do you some full size 80mm fans on the heatsink.

Taking off the cover and fans, reveals two indented areas on the heatsink. Grind down some of the frame of a 80mm fan housing it should fit. Probably use some take or glue to hold the fans on.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I did see this (Link Below) online but not sure if anyone has had success with it but I have not researched the forums yet. It does look promising though!

I really like this card as it plays BFBC2 very well and my RMA'd 5830 wouldn't play it even at the lowest settings!!! BTW I just got the tracking number on it from MSI and it states "Replaced" but not sure if it is with another 5830 or not. I assume so, but I complained about its perfomance enough that who knows?

Here is what i am considering for my fan noise: http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalo...ath=2_&mID=619

Hopefully posting a link is allowed as I am not trying to sell anything.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks again.
