I haven't gotten around to trying to unlock it, a little scared, but I will shortly.
If you used the "gtx470 Twin Frozr II" BIOS, that's the issue. Afterburner 2.0 doesn't read that BIOS on our cards for some crazy reason.

Several of us tried to upgrad to AB 2.0 but had to drop back down to 1.6.1 when we realized it wouldn't work. Still don't know why. Hoping that MSI will release an updated version of AB that fixes the issue.

As for the card that says reject and has broken blades, maybe you can move the fans to that card and see which one overclocks better. Pick the better of the two and RMA the other.

I'm guessing they sent you the "reject" because someone mixed up the good and bad piles of RMA'd items.

Thanks. I'm starting the flashing process soon. I still need to pick a bios. Any recommendations?

Also, I just installed Afterburner 1.6.1 and it still doesn't show a vid?

I already switched out fans and I'm going to give the card that came with broken fans the 1st flash and test. The other card only runs at 100% fans?

Update- I installed nvidia inspector and it shows the voltage at .875v at stock 465 settings. Hopefully this is decent?

I already had this card installed and I noticed it was very loud! I installed Afterburner and I could adjust the fan % but the rpm's remained the same, really high and loud.

I also noticed that the core V was blanked out? Any ideas how I can see this?

2nd card, #1681, had 1/2 the fan blades broken off 1 of the fans and a note from newegg saying "reject". Not sure why they sent it to me? Anyways, I decided to move the fan from the other card and just plugged it in and it's a lot quieter. Thank god!

However, I still can't see a core V reading in Afterburner? I'm using version 2.0.

To be able to adjust the voltage, click the Settings button, and then enable "Unlock voltage control". And while you're at it, enable "Unlock voltage monitoring" too so that you can see the actual voltage in the graph.

Hi, I just got mine today. It's number 1761. Can you add me to the list?

I unlocked it using "NCspecV81's modded BIOS". It seems to be pretty stable so far. I ran through some game benchmarks, and it's kicking serious ass over the stock 465 bios, and major ass over the hd 4870 it replaced. I might try another BIOS without such aggressive clock speeds, and just overclock from within afterburner if needed. I've had furmark kicking for the last 20 minutes, and the temp leveled off at 74c in my hot ass apartment.

I didn't even notice the button, thanks so much. So I got the card to unlock just fine following your guide. It was relatively easy.

I'm currently using the ocx480.rom bios. I was reading a post where you gave it a thumbs up. I'm using kombuster to check stability.

Yeah, I may need to make my own thread, or maybe pay Lt.JD to let me give him a much easier guide to follow. His kinda seems to jump around. It confused the living crap out of me at first, but fortunately Linus made an unlocking video which makes the whole process seem extremely easy (even though he doesn't show how to make a bootable flash drive, so I used Lt.JD's guide to give me the tools and knowledge for that part):

Congratulations and welcome to the club! You seem to have a pretty strong card to be able to run that modded bios and Kombustor for that long.

What voltage did the card take after flashing and unlocking to 470?

Glad to hear you got it unlocked . Also curious what voltage your card us running now that it's unlocked?

Lowest reported VID so far that I know of is .912mV.

I'm not sure exactly. How would I check that? GPU-Z reports the VDDC = 1.0870 under load, .8750 idle.
