850/1700/1750 @ 1.012v running kombustor for 38 minutes and no artifacts so far. I'll play BC2 later to see how it performs with the game.

Attachment 173580

After some serious BC2 gaming, I find it unstable at 850/1700/1750(1.012v). Tried lowering the settings to 825/1650/1700(1.012v) and still getting a white screen and random crashes. So decided to set it to 800/1600/1800 @ 0.987v and so far rock solid on both gpu3 folding and gaming.

Attachment 174737

I'm gonna try to sit on this settings for a week doing folding and/or gaming and will lower the voltage to 0.975v assuming i don't encounter any issues.

That's sick dude. I can't get over about 700 at .987V. Nice

No you don't need anything else for SLI, sorry for the confusion. Like you said I just wanted to recoup some money by returning one of my two cards.

So what happened with #1978?? I'm so curious lol.

IOW it's not something that happened 'intelligently', like you actually now need less volts than you did before or anything. In fact with my cards, this drop in stock VID (along with the shaders and whatnot unlocking) made my cards unstable and I had to mod my bios to bump the default VID back up again.

This being said, .925V is a very nice VID to be starting out at. Mine are .975V stock. Some people's were well over 1V.
You're right the voltage always dropped exactly 12.5mV with all four cards that I went through lol. I didn't mean to sound like I was confused by that I already figured that all these cards have that voltage drop after unlocking. But about the card becoming unstable due to the voltage drop, I believe this only happens if you card is already taking a lot of voltage. For examply only the 1.050mV #0474 card became unstable after unlocking, while the other three didn't (all .937mV or lower).

I just recieved my gold edition, I installed it but havn't tried flashing it to 470 yet. I did remove the heat sink and fans just to be sure it has 10 chips and Yes it does. My unit is number 1751

I again removed the heat sink to check the GPU and it does say GF100-275-A3. I tried flashing it with the package in the guide at this site, The result was that it GPUZ now says gtx470 but still 1024 memory and only 40 shaders and 256 bit. Where can I find a better bios?

I got card #2156 a few days ago and unlocked it successfully. Currently I'm using the bios for the 470 Twin Frozr II at stock speeds and voltage of 0.95.

Anyone know if 0.95v is correct? This seems to be the generic voltage for 470s and might not be good for my card specifically. But I haven't encountered any problems yet so who knows.

There's not a standard voltage that GTX 470s run at as far as I know. It ranges anywhere between .925mV and .975mV. So technically you have a pretty good card. As long as your card runs .970mV and below you should be stable before and after flashing without having to increase voltage. Best way to test stability: 10 min OCCT GPU Test. Good luck overclocking

1932 hasn't given me much trouble even after heating up the room, but anything over 1800 on memory it collapses and resets to desktop after some serious gaming. Funny, it used to run at 1866 without issues but that was when I first got it and no cpu overclock, I have another psu I'm going to try as well apevia 680w brand new. as I type, my little 700w is working, but rattles cause it's old, it was a 4rail w/a turbo to switch--> 1rail on 12v. Hmmm, I also have an issue with the system booting up with this card. It does a semi beep! so I switch psu on/off back to on, and it auto boots but it only turns over after I psu'ed it. (button->psu|off->on). Also, inheritantly, I have messed with pci-e because I've heard of performance gains in the past. No added performance here that I know of, except enabling a higher cpu clock. And a higher pci-e has only limited my cards OC'ing abilities. But admittedly, I have not done benches or gone any higher than 110.
800/1600/1800 I like, but it will go higher, I get shader process glitches after too long, and it just isn't fun for the card either. Also, I noticed at stock volts 1013, it runs at 820 but not without a total crapola of glitches on the screen.
TY NCIX for my unlocked card wooooooo. OH p.s. gtx260 from microcenter for 65 is quite the gem for phsyx let me tell you. my 8800gts didn't do ****!

Ok well, I just purchased a practically BNIB card from a member on here, and I've been told it's got 10 chips on it so I'm really looking forward to receiving it in the mail and getting started with a new project!

I will be the proud owner of card #1494

And I can't WAIT to get back to PhysX, as well as folding!
