So what happened with #1978?? I'm so curious lol.

You're right the voltage always dropped exactly 12.5mV with all four cards that I went through lol. I didn't mean to sound like I was confused by that I already figured that all these cards have that voltage drop after unlocking. But about the card becoming unstable due to the voltage drop, I believe this only happens if you card is already taking a lot of voltage. For examply only the 1.050mV #0474 card became unstable after unlocking, while the other three didn't (all .937mV or lower).
Have you tried running two cards in SLI? Is it really necessary? I currently don't even have a game installed that needs more than one of these. I think my most demanding game is like dirt 2 or far cry 2, and they both run over 60 fps. Of course my monitor's max res is only 1680x1050, so that has a bit to do with it.

I'm still contemplating whether or not i want to abandon my phenom II rig right now, and build an i7 based x58 system running 2 of these SLI, or wait until Sandy Bridge comes out.

I also all ready have a H55 board, that I could throw a i7 870 in, and that board has 2 pci-e slots, so I could add a dedicated physx card if I wanted. That would be a much cheaper build, and would replace my current HTPC, and allow me to game on my tv.

I'm running Metro2033 in DX11 and everything set to max on a 1280x1024 and it stutters every once in a while running at 850c. I turned off physx and dof and it plays better but not perfect.

I have yet to reload Crysis but I'm hoping it crushes it? It kills Just Cause 2.

I've got a silver Lian Li right now.. and cant find a reason to get rid of it even though it's outdated as hell and has no cable management to speak of. HAHA!

In my most recent build (seen below) i purchased indentical parts for my wife's computer too. She needed a new case so i picked up the following:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112264

Completely tool-less, and has two awesomely huge/quiet fans on the front(140mm) and back(120mm). It also has a ported panel top, in case you wanted to install another fan there. Oh, and the PSU bottom mounts and has ventilation through the bottom of the case, so you're not sucking hot air from inside the case.

Can you tell i'm jealous of her case?

Flash those 2 babies, dude. Those VIDs are awesome and hopefully they can inherit that once they got re-born to a GTX 470.

Yeah, I have Just Cause 2 installed as well, and it runs well, and the game is actually fun. I heard Metro2033 was a POS of a game, so I didn't bother buying it, I don't really play FPS much anyway. That is disappointing to hear though, considering they were bundling that game with these cards not long ago, or similar cards, I don't remember.

What is also disappointing is my VID being 1.025 V stock, but I guess it's not the end of the world, hopefully it won't burn up too quickly. If it lasts me two years I'll be happy, I'm sure it'll be time to get a dx12 card by then anyhow.

Hmmm, I also have an issue with the system booting up with this card. It does a semi beep! so I switch psu on/off back to on, and it auto boots but it only turns over after I psu'ed it. (button->psu|off->on). Also, inheritantly, I have messed with pci-e because I've heard of performance gains in the past. No added performance here that I know of, except enabling a higher cpu clock. And a higher pci-e has only limited my cards OC'ing abilities. But admittedly, I have not done benches or gone any higher than 110.
800/1600/1800 I like, but it will go higher, I get shader process glitches after too long, and it just isn't fun for the card either. Also, I noticed at stock volts 1013, it runs at 820 but not without a total crapola of glitches on the screen.
TY NCIX for my unlocked card wooooooo. OH p.s. gtx260 from microcenter for 65 is quite the gem for phsyx let me tell you. my 8800gts didn't do ****!
How'd you get a gtx260 from microcenter for 65?? The one by me only has an open box BFG for $125. That's disappointing that the 8800gts didn't do anything for you. I was thinking of adding a phsyx card, but was going to use a quadro NVS 295 I have sitting around, but if you're 8800 gts wasn't great, I'm sure that would be worse.

I was having driver issues with both cards and I beleive the nvidia drivers were conflicting with something? My guess is my Creative drivers? Anyways, everything worked but my card would magically under perform even though Afterburner was showing the proper clocks. I installed the latest 260.63beta drivers and my problem so far has went away. I really like the installation process on the new drivers and I can't wait for the full version.

I'm keeping card #1954 who was returned by fellow OC member yym789. It has stock unlocked 470 vid of .950v. Which I thought was pretty decent for an open box. I'm so far able to set the clocks at:
800 1600 1800 VID 1.000v
835 1670 1800 VID 1.050v
850 1700 1780 VID 1.087v (I might be able to lower the vid but I haven't tried yet)
I have yet to try anything higher as I'm satisfied with this so far. My highest Vantage score has been gpu 18,300. Does that sound right for a 850c?

Great card, it's pretty quiet up until about 65-70% fans, that's when it starts getting audible but it's not a terrible sound up to 80%.

Anyways, please add my to the list and update that card #1954 belongs to me now. Thanks
That Vantage score is indeed normal. Nice!

So now send a private message to Frosty to get the OP updated.

Unfortunately, that's only half of it. The GPU itself must have this physically printed on it: "GF100-275-A3". If it says that, then it's a GTX 470. But if it says "GF100-030-A3", then it's just a GTX 465 and will not accept a GTX 470's BIOS - even if it has 10 memory chips.

I would avoid that Apevia PSU at all costs. To see what I mean, see this thread:

Power supply causing millions of errors?

He owns this Apevia PSU, and it ended up being very bad news. Worse yet, it was all very sudden for him. Carefully read all of these posts (they are in Chronological order, starting with both the OP and Post #5):

I also noticed the post code 9.0 for my abit board and after doing further research it comes down to either the PSU or my cpu. My guess is the 12v rail is degraded but the PSU was workin fine yesterday. any suggestions? my hx850 is coming in the mail but im afraid i might have burned something in my new build.

theres the power supply. I've only had this PSU for about 2-3 years. I'll setup the system info later. Also i am unable to get to BIOS or even get past that in that case so i can't acess my OS. I've also noticed that when i plug in my Sata power cable to my Corsair 800d Hot Swap Sata power cable, my PSU turns off and doesn't power. Sorta like the same thing that happened with my 275 where the PSU turns off and i have to manualy switch incoming power off and back on again.

Regarding dracotonisamond's comment about his Raidmax PSU: Raidmax and Apevia are pretty much the same.

So stop torturing your Golden Edition with a cheap PSU unless you want to kill it long before it dies of old age. Everything you've said so far about the 700W tells me that it's just another generic and junky PSU.

So why is the PSU so important? Because the entire system depends on it!

Playing Crysis (the first one) with my sig rig, I get roughly 20-30 FPS most of the time, sometimes a tiny bit less. I use 1680x1050, 4xAA, Full Screen, VSync, and everything set to Very High.
